Default Headlights on all the time

So I have a bit of a dilemma. Apperantly in Canada, the head lights are on all the time. Now there's a daytime running light fuse that I pulled a hen I had the car running, and the lights shut off. I thought perfect,I'll pull the fuse and wire my halo rings into there. So I pull my headlights apart, unwire the converters, put male plug ends on,reseal the headlights and test it out. Seemed to work fine until I released the parking break and moved forward a bit. What do Ya know, the headlights came on and still work on all settings! I'm at a bit of a loss here on what to do. I'm hoping that someone here has an idea on what I can do. I'm trying to get it so just the halos will light up on the parking lights. The only thing I can think of is some bypass on the ebrake of some sort. Any ideas?

Hey, sorry I am just seeing this. Put the fuse back in, that won't help you. The DRL for Canadian cars can be disabled in Consult III at the dealership then you will have full control over the HL. I know because I had it done here last summer. You just need to find a tech at Nissan that you can toss some cash to that is willing to do it for you. Takes ~80 seconds. Good luck.

Ya,I noticed the tail lights don't work without it so I put it back in! Lol. I've searched high and low for a fix,but I think your right. Going to a tech to disable it is probably my only option. Thanks for the input.

Haha ya the fuse that controls the DRL module also controls the tails and parking lights. Don't bother wiring the orbs to the parking light function either, it's better to retain complete control. Then you don't have to use the orbs while the headlights are on at night. It's too easy to wire a switch in for the orbs in the cabin

I did have them wired to the parking lights in the headlights, but I opened them up again and wired them externally when I replaced a headlight lense. I thought it would be better that way. So what would be a good power source? I was thinking of hooking up to power source by the passenger footwell and have the switch in between the seat warmer switches, but that is going to be a heck of a lot of wire! Can't remember if that has constant power or not. I know the one in the centre console shuts off when the car is off.

That is a good place for the switch. I use the 12v power in the console, it doesn't matter to me that they don't have power when the car is off. Just means I can't leave them on by mistake lol.
