Default Front license plate

Hey everyone. .I live in the corrupt state of Illinois and they require you to have your front license plate mounted.
I personally don't like it in the front of my Z, but cops love to ticket.
Anyone have any clever ideas on how to mount without drilling any holes?
Thanks

I use the Stillen bracket that mounts in the tow hook fitting. Works fine, but if you ever need to tow it, better keep a wrench on hand.

Take a high res shot and have vinyl stickers of your plates made. Give them the dimensions.

You could also go with Mower Axle. Connects to the same place as the Stillen.

my state also requires plates. i just run the plates after getting pulled over number of times in the past for not having them on. i think cops genuinely respect sports car owners that run front plates in such states.

Got hassled once and that was it. It was up the next day. It actually saved me money. A pc of wood flying off the freeway hit the plates and bent it most likely saving the front bumper from damage.

Find a way to get your plates up there.

Default Using Stock Mounting Bracket

You can use the stock black mount, by relocating the holes in it. Just drill the new holes about 5/8" or 3/4" from the top edge exactly in line with the existing holes. Moving the holes up will move the bracket down when screwed into the black grill facia (where the small dimples are). I had to get longer screws, large, #14 round head sheet metal. I flattened the head about half on a grinder. Then screw the mount, using new holes, into the facia without using the inserts that came with the stock mount. Then install the plate. This puts the whole mount and license below the bumper (painted portion). It does bend the license out a wee bit, but with my 370Z stainless steel frame , it does not show.
Best wishes,
TxCh
