Amuse polyurethane

Does anyone know where I can purchase an amuse kit that is made from polyurethane? I have not found anything besides frp and I heard that is very easy to break. Any help would be appreciated.

I think the closest you can get is Duraflex. It is more flexible (or so Duraflex says). But it is not an exact replica.

TerribleONE 10-30-2014 11:34 AM

Buy the real thing! :)

or the "real" replica :ugh2::wtf2:

cooltoy 10-30-2014 11:58 AM

As long as the quality of the replica is as good as the real thing.

The real thing is FRP... They don't make polyurethane Amuse kits

6MT-Z34 10-30-2014 05:27 PM

Then your best choice will be duraflex since it claims to be more flexible but it is not the best replica :ugh2:

Ultimate POS, in videos they hit it with bats and have guys bend their bumpers... MY ARSE!!!

As for fit and finish, it's nice, things like the holes on the sides of the bumpers aren't cut out... LOL!!!

I am very aware of that, I am saying that I recommend buying the real thing, and staying far away from the Duraflex kits. But that's just me.

Dragon_Ball_Z 10-30-2014 11:55 PM

I had a duraflex kit on my camaro in the mail, and i pulled it out of the box and it was in pieces from shipping. I had to request a full refund. This happened twice with duraflex. I am looking at aerojacket and Shineauto very hard. They also have bumper scrape plates, anybody got any experience with those brands and the scrape plates?

Yeah, Fly 1 sells them. I picked one is yesterday

cooltoy 10-31-2014 07:21 PM

I knew that. But he made it sound like Shine and AJ had them. So I thought that maybe that was a new product they started carrying.

I am going to see if I can make my own, and if I can't, then I will be ordering one from Fly1 as well (skirts guards too).

Element600ee 10-31-2014 07:22 PM

whatever you do stay far far away from anything with the duraflex name on it . the worst fitting sh3it ive ever seen and have fun dealing with them when you try and send it back .. i was going through the same thing as far as looking for poly body parts for our z . i wanted the amuse kit but i didnt want frp . i ended up after a lot of searching going with evo r carbon blades for the side and a stillen front bumper ( its polly , fits perfect according to every review i could find and it is a functional bumper ) mine will be here monday or tues and i will post up a review of fit and quality when i get it . im not sure what im doing for the rear bumper yet and i think im gonna wait till Kognition comes out with there new line of wings in dec . im thinking of just doing ad ons or a nismo bumper in the rear . to answer your question i looked and looked and i couldnt find any company that made poly amuse parts for our cars . if you find anyone who does please shoot me a pm as id buy a rear amuse style bumper if i could get it in poly .

Skid plates are easy to make and install.

Dragon_Ball_Z 11-02-2014 12:11 PM

Thanks for the explanation element 600ee!!

How could I make skid plates??

wheee! 11-02-2014 01:37 PM

:shakes head: Such hate for Duraflex!

Yes, you get what you pay for. No, it is not as good a copy as shine auto. Yes, it is more flexible. Yes, it will still crack or break if hit or twisted badly. YMMV

I've got the Aerojacket kit in full carbon fiber with the amuse aluminum splitter made by Fly 1. Love it and they are great guys to work with. Both Rich and Lohit. I have had nothing but postive experiences with them.

Dragon_Ball_Z 11-05-2014 01:04 AM

Does anybody have pics of an amuse kit with kevlar carbon? I can't find a pic anywhere.

No because it's hideous, lol

cooltoy 11-05-2014 09:26 AM

I have never seen it. Maybe ask Shine if they have a pic.

cooltoy 11-05-2014 09:30 AM

Wouldn't it be yellowish, kind off like this?

Lol depointfive0, and thanks cooltoy. I am just thinking that regular carbon won't be visible that much on gun metallic.

cooltoy 11-05-2014 10:17 AM

But yellow would be worse.

Dragon_Ball_Z 11-05-2014 10:19 AM

I don't want to look like a ricer.....

I think the CF will still look good on gun metallic.

Or you can paint it body colour.

Or just black.

Dragon_Ball_Z 11-05-2014 10:44 AM

That looks good but I need horsepower to back the kit!

cooltoy 11-05-2014 10:48 AM

CF is still dark enough to stand out.

I believe member inf3kted has CF on his. Send him a PM.

My car is magnetic black and trust me, it will be visible. Kevlar would be just hideous.

Dragon_Ball_Z 11-05-2014 03:57 PM

I ruled out Kevlar guys! Thanks for the help. Do you guys think it would be a practical DD with the amuse Kit? Thanks cooltoy and terribleone and riptide67.

cooltoy 11-05-2014 04:07 PM

I have just received my kit two days ago. I am not lowering my car. From what everybody says, it is not that bad. You have to take curbs and speed bumps at an angle. The front is usually not the issue, if you are going to scrape anywhere its the back of the side skirts, because that area is much lower then stock.

http://www.the370z.com/2461818-post543.html

FLY1 makes scrape plates for the front and the sides.

cooltoy 11-05-2014 04:10 PM

Lots of Amuse info here.

Dragon_Ball_Z 11-05-2014 04:11 PM

Awesome info Cooltoy! What brand did you order?

cooltoy 11-05-2014 04:13 PM

Shine Auto. 10% of for Black Friday right now, if you mention it to them.

Dragon_Ball_Z 11-05-2014 04:15 PM

That's awesome, ill order mine really soon then. Have you checked fitment? Did you order carbon as well?
