Did you have those pieces CF wrapped?
|
Quote:
Nope! That's hydro graphics/hydro dip/water transfer paint, I have heard it called all 3 things same thing different wording lol :yum: basically painted and then clear coated :tiphat: Side note: this winter I will getting a front splitter/skid plate to show a little bit of CF out the front like many other Nismos already have  |
Looks good.
|
:tiphat: Thanks, I have seen lots of other cars with it done and thought why not I love CF but didn't want to change to much from the Nismo look. Keeps it clean and doesn't bulge or gap in anyway like some wrapped pieces will. I have also seen it on engine covers so I assume it can take "some" heat…….I already have future plans for other parts on the car.
|
Dude those hydrographics turned out great! It looks better than the wrap especially with the clear coat. I literally had to stare at the pics for awhile to decipher it ahhaha.
|
DAMN IT! You stole my idea! I planned on doing it with vvivid vinyls' 4d Carbon wrap. Very realistic Carbon and very easy to work with. Much better look than the dinoc looking stuff. Way to go on a clean looking Nismo.

however again IMO the hydro graphics are going to look a lot cleaner then vinyl wraps. when you touch mine it is clear coated along with the paint so it is literally seamless you can not feel any difference or transition just smooth! |
Not sure if been posted already but evo-r put their LEDs up.
EVO-R INC. Nissan 370Z Z34 2015 Up Nismo DRL LED Bumper Lights On sale till end of year for $250 shipped after that they go to $338 shipped. Thinking I'll order mine early Dec. Sorry if repost. |

Just ordered all of my front bumper conversion parts from courtesy parts..Quick question...
I do not want the red insert pieces (I want them black or maybe even color matched in monterey blue). Do I need to order those pieces and paint them black, or can I just not order them? |

You will need the pieces you can paint them whatever color but without them there will be a blank space that will not look good at all. I suppose you could try to have a shop fill it in but that seems like more trouble than it's worth. If you check out carbon signals build thread for their 15 Nismo lip kit you can see what the bumper looks like without the inserts while they were making their lip kit.
|
Thanks for the reply. I ordered the inserts. Now just need to get some quotes on how much it's going to cost to get the front bumper painted
|
I got to find somewhere to buy the front bumper. Local dealership quoted me $530 which sucks a bit but having it shipped from anywhere costs like $200

For those who did the front conversion and did not get the OEM DRL or the EVO-R DRL, what did you do with the empty space? Just left it blank?
|
Yes.
There was talk about someone making a blank insert, but I am not sure if that ever happened. |
Cool...I wish someone make a blank insert for this. It should be cheap to make.
|
It is discussed somewhere in this thread.

2015 Nismo Bumper on 2009 Sport possible?
I've read this whole thread a couple of times and I didn't see any blank insert talk mentioned. I've heard a lot of talk about putting mesh in those spots, which is probably what I'm going to do if I don't get the EvoR DRLs
|
I guess they were talking about making the red pieces in CF and taking the mold of those.
Another option maybe is to have the body shop fill the holes in. |
I might try fiberglassing them shut when I do my bumper
|
Bumping this back into life :happydance:
|
I just dropped off my Z for this conversion. I can't wait to be able to post some pics! :happydance:

Quick question if anyone can answer. I know you can't use the older Nismo bumpers along with a license plate relocation kit. That still true for this bumper?

Looks so good. My bumper just came in today. I'm looking to get the car wrapped this spring so I'll have to wait a month or two to put the bumper on
|
I ordered a hydrodip kit to play with the red accents
