if you're running stock exhaust and was not smashed under the car, then yah, it should be covered. but who knows though, i cant really diagnose your car over the internet...

I think I know where that is...not sure how good the dealership is never dealt with them before...I would ask to see how it is before they fix it just so you know they are not trying to charge you for more than what it really is

If you paid for the warranty it should be covered if anything I would send an email to corporate AFTER THEY FIX THE CAR CORRECTLY about them not honoring the warranty.

Rattling and then death? Does it at least turn over before spluttering out?

I suspect the internals of the cat(s) went bad and are clogging up the exhaust.

Did you ever get the CEL code -- you can always buy a code reader at Autozone or walmart if you don't want to tow and it won't run.

Dude I'm way passed a code reader. I'm an amateur at this, and tried to take advantage of nissan roadside assistance/warranty. I'm just hoping I pay the deductible

I don't have any personal experience from it but I've read about a few ppl that had big problems with their Nissan dealerships and contacting headquarters and notifying them about the issue and getting it resolve.

This is exactly why I told you what you needed to do. You could have gone in with an idea of what the problem is. Now you're at the mercy of the dealer.

If it turned out to be something simple like a sensor you could have easily had someone in your local forum replace one for beer money. Being impatient gets expensive. Don't take this one too hard- what's done is done, but in the future it might be cheaper to rent a car for a day or two and fix it outside of the dealership if it's not going to be covered under your warranty than to drop it at the dealer with no clue what to tell them to look for.

Also, what was the oil level of the car when you checked it?
