It's pretty well documented here. If you're vigilant about checking the oil level and it was burning oil, you would have noticed before now.

My next change was at 4300 I'm at roughly 41 ... I got the oil changed at 38 .... I didn't think to be diligent about checking oil level

This is a good reason, if you have a smart phone, to get a $15 wifi or bluetooth code reader.

I'm in saddle brook, I could probably stop by later today after work to pull the code for you.

ZoroItaliano 05-14-2014 11:48 AM

I will let you know. I might need a sooner solution.

Have your car towed to a reputable mechanic (it doesn't need to be a Nissan Dealer). Why are you messing around with Autozone? If it's a minor issue, then a good mechanic will let you know, and charge you accordingly.

If you car is nearing 50,000 miles, then you will need a good mechanic at some point. Might as well find one now.

Because Autozone will let you use their code scanner for free. Mechanics charge for diagnostics and it's always good to tell them where to start looking.
