Fuel starvation? Your gas tank is nearly empty? Did you make a sharp turn? It doesn't have to be autozone to read the code. Pep boys or other local shop whichever is closer to you can read the code for free too.

Because Autozone will let you use their code scanner for free. Mechanics charge for diagnostics and it's always good to tell them where to start looking.

Call me skeptical, but if a forum member's car suddenly stops running and his first instinct to go to the Internet for advice on whether to go to the dealer or Autozone, I'm a bit skeptical that he or she has the mechanical savvy to work on their own car.

Anyone who does a little wrenching on their own, should already know that Autozone/Pep Boys will read the codes for free.

maybe he's stranded so was using his smartphone for advise while waiting for the tow truck?

ZoroItaliano 05-14-2014 02:17 PM

I'm not mechanically savvy I admit that ..... I called nissan roadside service

So I got the call from nissan and they had said it was an electrical problem. And in order to determine what the issue is they have to take a lot of parts off the car to determine what the issue is. They have to run a diagnostic which is $500 and if the issue is covered under warranty then I'd only pay the deductible..
