Since the problem cropped up immediately after installing the new HU, I suspect a loose connector or a cut wire. Could be the switch - easy enough to check with

Since the problem cropped up immediately after installing the new HU, I suspect a loose connector or a cut wire. Could be the switch - easy enough to check with an ohmmeter.
I don't recall reading anything about having to reset SRM after removing power but I have a 7AT and may have overlooked it.
