Because people are too lazy to move their finger

How am I supposed to drive and masturbate if I have to keep messing with the dang turn signal?

But seriously, does it even save time vs. a normal indicator?

Actually, fapping while driving makes it easier. Because third arm.

There are 4 types of drivers:
1. No flasher at all
2. To tell you they are coming over regardless of whether or not there's room
3. To tell you where they've been
4. Then there are those that actually use a flasher to indicate they need to get over and would appreciate you accommodating them

When my directional goes on, I am not asking permission to change lanes. I am kindly sharing my immediate intentions.

Dwight Frye will become famous soon enough

Back about 35-40 years ago, auto manufacturers started to study and change the layout of some of the controls in cars and somewhat standardize them across brands. One of these advancements was putting the turn signal stalk closer to your fingertips (provided you keep your hands on the wheel where they belong), adding a "lane change" function where you could push partially up or down on the stalk to blink and when you took pressure off it would reset, and the push forward for brights and pull back to flash function, all integrated on that stalk. Gone was the old push button on the firewall for the high beams.
Intermittent wiper functions and a one touch sweep feature became fairly standard for the wiper stalk.
The point of these design changes was to allow drivers to operate the functions by finger touch while keeping their hands on the wheel. Seriously, it's not that difficult.

Hmm, but....I feel like a pro when I make a gradual turn with my signal light held on while braking and downshifting into it.... Don't take this away from me!

Ok, I admit I'd never heard of this before. Sounds like a neat toy.

But it makes me annoyed to read that page, like it's too hard to use a turn signal. (That should be directed at roughly 40% of other drivers who are too important/busy to use a turn signal, really.)

I also admit. I'm the dork who signals lane changes when there isn't a car in sight or when I'm driving through an empty parking lot. I guess I drive in a way that mitigates the risk of people I'm NOT actually seeing or don't know are there. Blindspots, people who race up too quick, pedestrians in the dark, the person who might have otherwise turned into me up ahead, or just me missing something (as rare as that is). Or for the bored cop up ahead who decides I need to be pulled over for making a manuever without proper signaling.

Well I'm glad I didn't need anyone to actually provide input of some value.
