What it's this plug for?

so I took apart the center dash unplugged everything and as I flipped over I saw one strange plug. it looks like it's just sitting in a dummy spot but

hahaha, not a clue. saw the same thing when i had mine apart last week. looking at the name lable on the back of that plastic piece it says SIEMENS VDO, they are usually associated with automotive stuff and instrumentation
