I'm about to install Nismo side skirts (not s-tune) on my base 370z and was wondering what y'all thought of them. I have not gotten them painted yet, I just wanted an opinion on them if you think they would look right or if there was a better looking side skirt. The one plus is that the sides are functional.

OK finally got the front fascia installed. Was not too bad. The lower spash shield can easily be used, you only have to drill 4 holes into the Nismo diffuser so it can attach to the OEM splash shield, and two more screws line up with the diffuser holding it in place. Doesn't need to be hacked or streched or anything. Lines up like factory. The only issue is the corners, where there is a small opening. There are two tabs that are not used to secure to the diffuser but it's no big deal. Another thing I found is the wheel well liners are different and don't fit perfectly with the "protectors" (the little plastic pieces that cover up the gaps. The liners just overlap a little and are fine. Not sure I want to bother getting the Nismo liners. I'll post up a pic this weekend. Nismo rear bumper getting painted now, hope to have it installed in a few weeks along with the side skirts.

At least it's not amuse

All your missing is the nismo wing.

NewYorkJon34 03-25-2011 12:19 AM

The front looks soo much bigger than the rest of the car, get the side skirts at least so it looks more natural

Mr&Mrs 03-25-2011 12:22 AM

I think a larger wing would make it look proportioned the skirts look fine to me.

Jamaica 03-25-2011 12:36 AM

side skirt it does need. Im diggin the wheels

Jordo! 03-25-2011 05:08 AM

The wheels are beautiful... now Ireally want a set.

Is the price listed on the Z1 site for the Nismo wing correct??? Does it (or any of the body parts) at least come painted?

NewYorkJon34 03-25-2011 08:18 AM

None of them come painted my friend, if they did it would be more money, the paint may not match 100% to your car, and it might be damaged during shipping. I believe they come primed ready to be painted tho.

tjlazer 03-25-2011 11:04 AM

Well I think the rear Nismo bumper is a little larger so it will help with the look. Sides skirts are minumal. Rear wing will help a lot too.

Econ 03-25-2011 11:12 AM

this thread is making me want the nismo bumper...

EDIT: the nismo bumper to list of rear bumpers to choose from...

amuse/zele/nismo.....ahhh decisions!@#%&

Mr&Mrs 03-25-2011 11:49 AM

Amuse!

Beautiful work. Looks spectacular in blue. I'm happy everything is working out for you. Did you fit the stock tires over those awesome Nismo wheels?

Thanks! Can't wait to put the rest on. Nope those are the stock Nismo tires that came with the wheels.

Nice! Monterey blue has never looked so good. Well done.

PS: Looks great with the stock spoiler.

EVOR 05-26-2011 10:11 PM

Looks great!

2ndChance 05-26-2011 11:14 PM

You forgot the nismo badge :)

Dustin@Z1 05-27-2011 08:19 AM

I just want you to know that you nearly put me $40K in debt with these pics. My fiance saw these pics and nearly had a heart attack. I had to calm her down bc she wants a blue NISMO so badly.

Excellent looking Z!

TJ, first let me say that this is gorgeous. Makes you wonder why Nissan didn't make a Monty Blu Nismo.

Second, I think you ought to get the spoiler, or at least the Stune one that looks like the stock Nismo one. I think the sport spoiler is too tame for this body work. And if you do that, you might try to swap your rear hatch for someone with a non-sport monty blu coupe. I've heard that it's easier to install a spoiler on the non-sport hatch, and that way someone else gets a free visual upgrade. Totally up to you, though.

Looks sweet

I agree. Needs something a little more aggressive to set off the rear bumper. Nice job, either way.

Great info guys, I read all 23 pages but am still wondering is the Nismo spoiler, not s-tune, but the actual Nismo spoiler will bolt right into the same holes as the sport model spoiler? I would hate to have to weld and repaint a brand new trunk lid!

Ditto. The spoiler is the only part of the Nismo package I'm after personally. To each their own of course and no offense meant but the Nismo air dam makes the 370Z look like a Mazda with a big smiley face. A smiley face doesn't imply agressive to me.
