Racing Seat Brackets - Bride Gias

Does anyone know if there are any racing seat brackets out yet to fit the Nissan 370z? Or is the 350z brackets the same as the 370z?

I got the Nismo, and it has shitty little Nissan Sentra looking cloth seats they etched NISMO on. The leather seats in the touring are way nicer, and I was looking at replacing mine with either racing seats, or leather touring seats. So far I'm looking at the Bride Gias racing seats. Carbon kevlar backed, with reclining.

The 350 brackets will not fit directly. They can be modded a bit, but when I tried an install with my Sparco Milano's I was right on the ceiling (I am 6' tall). There is not a lot of headroom to play with. I understand some Bride brackets are in the works. They will need to be as low as possible for any aftermarket seat to work well.

BRIDE has seat rails for the 370Z. Right now, I have the only set in the country, and they are for sale :D. More should be coming to the US on the next container from Japan though so probably another month or so.

Yeah I know bride sells the "Lo Max" option brackets that are built lower for that reason. Hopefully they will work.

I bought (2) Bride Gias CarbonKevlar Back, Black, with Gradation, Low Max seats from Georgia just now. Now I'm just looking for sliders and Brackets. Hmm. DDM? o.O

There are seat rails available for all Bride seats that are compatible with the Z34. Bride's US office had a few in stock but they sold out not too long ago.

no joke! lol

its alright. upgrade time soon.

Equinox 07-29-2009 02:17 PM

His sentra is faster than my NismoZ though, so it's all good. :)

My bride gias seats came in today, I'll take pictures if it matters - you can find them all over the net. The brackets from Double Down Motorsports haven't arrived yet - prolly cause the seats shipped from one state over and the brackets didn't. <3

Spec Jay 07-29-2009 07:21 PM

Equinox 07-29-2009 10:25 PM

eh Maybe. who knows what the"???" could be

Equinox 07-30-2009 09:12 AM

Probably gonna be a 2009 Underwear Gnome GXP.

Anyone wanna trade 370z leather touring seats for bride gias seats? Haha. My wife is nagging me because she can't fit in these seats, so if I install them she won't ever be able to get in the 370z. That's a bad thing. I'm wondering if I'd be happy with leather seats from the touring model instead. Or just leather stock seats in general. Anyone wanna trade?

wow if i had the leathers id do it. what about the base seats? :P

Equinox 07-31-2009 10:47 AM

Haha nah my Nismo cloth seats are the base ones for the most part. I think for now I'm gonna put the driver seat in today or saturday - and see how I like it, maybe leave the stock nismo passenger for the wife unless I can find a trade for atleast one.

RCZ 07-31-2009 11:36 AM

How much do you want + the trade?

You can get that model with a different bottom bolster. It will probably be more comfortable to sit in for women's hips.

I have them in my corolla, you can see the difference.

I wasn't looking to make any money for the trade, but with Mattjk's advice I might just go that route instead. Know availability?

I'll trade you my passenger seat. It is new.

bullitt5897 07-31-2009 04:06 PM

I might be interested in the trade I have black touring leather with heated option :D PM me if your interested I will trade both seats :D... Also send me some pics of the seats out of wrapper if your interested.

Mike

CBRich 07-31-2009 09:58 PM

I can't believe you hate the OEM seats so bad. You plan to sell them?

bullitt5897 08-01-2009 12:02 AM

I don't hate them... I am just trying to further my build and get my car ready for magazines soon! :D

Equinox 08-03-2009 10:05 AM

I'm sorry for leading you guys on, I'm just gonna go with the two Bride seats, I installed them this weekend, kept both to just keep it clean looking. As for the Nismo seats - I'll gladly trade those for black leather stockers if anyone wants. It will just be a pain shipping those suckers.

Equinox 08-03-2009 11:17 AM

better roof to seat clearance than the stockers. Wife hates them, lol.

RCZ 08-03-2009 03:50 PM

Damn, that's nice. Love the car so far Equinox.

Equinox 08-03-2009 05:09 PM

FuszNissan trolling boards at work claiming he's trying to get buyers, haha.

FuszNissan 08-03-2009 05:49 PM

That is one of the Employer to employee benifits....lol

CBRich 08-03-2009 06:31 PM

They look really sharp. You sure you don't want to trade those Nismo seats for the stock cloth seats. Leather's a pain.

kdoske 08-03-2009 09:21 PM

Looks cool. I just wish the seats had a little bit more branding on them....

I KID I KID!

Looks good Equinox!!

Are there any airbag (or any other sort of) resistors that you need to installed with the seats as well?

Both seats in the car have an airbag integrated into the outside shoulder, and there is a wire leading to them under the seats. When you unplug these they will cause an airbag light on your dash.

The passenger seat also has a weight sensor to detect the passenger. If you disconnect this, your Passenger Airbag light on the right side of the dash will stay lit.

I haven't done anything to make these go away, but I will research solutions, most likely solder a resistor inline to the harness, and jump them so they loop.

Equinox 08-04-2009 09:44 AM

With the airbag connected, measure the resistance drop across the airbag harness. (Measure wire going to airbag, and wire coming to airbag.) Whatever the ohm resistance is, just bridge the harness with a resistor of that ohm rating, and light will go away.

Remember that the 370 needs to have the diagnostic mode run in order to actually remove the light once the airbag or resistor is reconnected AK370Z had a thread on how to accomplish this, as well as a link to it from his radio install, DNX6140 Kenwood I think.

M.Bonanni 08-04-2009 10:44 AM

Also for the passenger air bag, a friend who has a Mini Cooper bought a factory weight sensor from Mini that he installed into his Recaro seats so the passenger airbag remains functional. Just an idea. :)

Equinox 08-04-2009 10:47 AM

well I was considering gutting the stock seat, because really the skin is just zipper on like all seats, and taking the weight sensor off. The bride seats have centers that velcro on so you can wash them after all those sweaty Solo II events. I can just slide the weight sensor under there.

If you do that, make sure you post a DIY thread on transferring the stock weight sensor to an aftermarket seat. That is something that most people who get aftermarket seats don't think about. :)
