A 4.7 Ohm resistor worked for my Audi Bags....

I'm sure that picture filled in a lot of gaps for people. Good looking out Modshack. You and your diamond plate mats - ya ricer. Lol,

DDM - I'll try to remember to make a DIY. I usually get too excited and just complete the mod instead of documenting it, lol.

I installed the passenger air bag weight sensor in my passenger bride gias seat - to allow the sensor to arm when someone is in the car. Here are some pictures!

More to come, I took the SRS air bag out of the passenger seat as well, and I'm gonna try figuring out the resistance needed to trick the air bag light. That's this week's project as long as the RX-7 stops distracting me with new parts coming in the mail. Lol.

Awesome! Thanks Equinox!

since I lacked enough pictures to make a true how to - I just put a lot of descriptions under each picture.

You say your wife doesnt fit in these seats...having not seen or sat in real BRIDE seats before...myself being 5'11'' and 200lbs...do you think I would fit in these seats if I bought em?

what about me; 6'4, 230

I'm surprised you fit in the car at all as far as height is concerned. Width wise, you might be un comfortable on your kidneys, especially on a daily driving basis

haha yea im not the only guy on the forum thats that tall i actually have more head room in the z cars than in my truck though.

Equinox 10-16-2009 09:11 AM

That's not surprising. My wife' has a pontiac G8 is a big *** sedan, but when I wear my beret (Army) it hits the roof, but my 370z has plenty of room, especially with the LO Max Brides.

no kiddin i think it has somethin to do with american built seat rails. its almost like they're raised up.

I was able to completely get rid of my airbag light on my dash now. When you remove the stock seats, you are removing SRS airbags that are inside the stock seat shoulders. So you get a flashing airbag light blinking on your dash with racing seats. I went ahead and chopped the connector off the stock seat (a wire that hangs out the bottom of the seat) and soldered in a 4.7 ohm, 1/2 watt resistor on it - to create a loop. I reconnected the connector to the car under my bride seats, did the airbag reset thing, and cleared the airbag light. Tada no airbag light. Below is a album with pictures and descriptions. I'll make a how-to soon. Thanks to MODshack for the resistor spec info!

these would absolutely not be the right seat for you in that case

I am 5'11, 195 lbs myself. We had the Gias in our Evo for maybe 2 weeks. Ended up swapping them out for Recaro's, as I just could not get comfortable in them at all.

At 6'4, 230, I would suggest you find somewhere that offers seats to try out first, as you are going to have a much narrower range of seats to choose from

so its not height? its the width of the seat? i didnt even think about that. :icon14:

They are not particularly wide seats, and they have minimal padding to them. A great seat for smaller guys though, and one of the most popular we offer (we're one of the largest Bride dealers in the US)

If you pm me what you're goals are with an aftermarket seat, budget, and what you like/don't like about stock ones, I'd be happy to work with you to find a suitable aftermarket one.

im looking at something that'll hold me in at higher speed turns but lower so i have more head room i know how expensive brides are so thats not an issue.
