Carbon Fiber Instrument Bezel

1 Attachment(s)
Has anyone carbon fibered their instrument bezel? I know at least one person has. In addition to not liking the silver plastic temperature / fuel gauge, the surrounding bezel would look so much better in carbon fiber.
Cheers!

Apoc370z 04-18-2013 04:10 PM

Did cf element did that? Looks nice

joeybosco 04-18-2013 11:19 PM

I might just paint my black, does it pop right out?

XwChriswX 04-18-2013 11:24 PM

Looks like its a replacement piece, not a CF overlay/wrap.

I would be interested in this. Where did you find it/who sells it? Cost?

Dzel 04-18-2013 11:28 PM

Also interested!

cinellipro 04-19-2013 06:25 AM

I refreshed the page and the picture popped up. Then I went into the person's album and copied it. Do not know which member it was. If the bezel is a one piece component that can be snapped in, count me in. This could be a game changer. I can't believe these carbon fiber vendors haven't thought about CFing this piece.

CarbonSignal 04-19-2013 01:01 PM

We did few locally, if there is interest can do a real CF overlay?

Dzel 04-19-2013 01:58 PM

Would it be a complete replacement

Yes can do both overlay or replacement.

XwChriswX 04-20-2013 12:51 AM

I would be up for a replacement piece. I'm not too interested in having to remove the OEM piece to send off and be overlaid.

cinellipro 04-20-2013 11:08 AM

Since the tach bezel is already black I'm more interested in the speedo and fuel/temp bezel. However, if it is all one piece then I'm happy with that too. I found the part. It is a cluster trim and retails for $68. I wonder if the piece pops out?

Here's the diagram.

The pic in the OP the red lines in the pic show the weave is off.

FYI

RoshDawg 04-21-2013 12:13 AM

I'm interested. I would gladly take mine off and send it in.

We never ask people to send us their items, it should fit on top of your stock one or can be replaced.

Let do it this way we will do one next month if people like it can do a special GB.

I was just about to state that.

Looking forward to seeing a completed version in my car.

I would also recommend a DIY on how to remove/replace/install this piece because I'm not 100% sure how it would attach. :icon17:

hahha thats a pic i made to ask the original OP "carbonsignal" why the weave isnt all in the same line. he said i was being too picky and that he doesnt even notice it on his own.... or something along those lines.

it would drive me crazy but to each his own.

:)

:icon18: really when did you ask that? it might be a bit off but we dont comment on other manufacturer's items. Our all parts follow same weave pattern and in same direction once installed.

Wonka2581 04-23-2013 05:35 AM

I want one....

carbonsignal if this isnt your part then i greatly appologize! someone posted this last year and i copied the image and asked about the uneven lines. i could have sworn it was you but like i said i might be wrong. i spent 30 minutes going back over every post i made in the last few months but it stops at 15 pages.

again if this isnt your original work then im sorry.

BUT "whoever" the originator was i asked about it and got a crummy answer. i blew it off and forgot about it.

EDIT AND UPDATE..

Carbonsignal this is NOT your part and I apologize for any wrong info being spread. I found out a min ago who actually made it.

sorry for any confusion guys.

Now that we confirmed that CarbonSignal makes excellent high quality product, how about an ETA on the Carbon Fiber instrument bezel.

BoneDocZ 04-23-2013 05:35 PM

I would be interested in one as a replacement, but not overlay.

Vendors, any update on a high quality full overlay, wrap or replacement bezel for the instruments. There seems to be a lot of interest.

tHeZgUy 05-26-2013 10:39 AM

I second the request for an update gents

stevennoland 05-26-2013 08:23 PM

Third request.

Chuck33079 05-26-2013 09:10 PM

Count me in too.

CarbonSignal 05-28-2013 02:39 AM

Hopefully in next two weeks, did something on the part but couldn't continue as had lots of work because of a big shipment leaving of around 70 pieces for US but very soon.

Ready for Installation

So I pulled out the face of the fuel/temp gauge. It was easy. Using one hand, don't squeeze too hard and slowly pull it toward you. Once it releases, make sure you are not pulling the light strip that sits just behind the cover. Be aware that Nissan does not sell the gauge cover as an individual part.
I then painted it. It is a big improvement over the silver face.

Now I'm just waiting on the carbon fiber instrument cluster. Yep...just waiting.
:tiphat:

huh, cool. wait, so you just pull on the piece? dont need to take the cluster out or anything?

no snaps or tabs or screws to worry about?

cinellipro 06-12-2013 04:30 PM

There are four tabs/snaps/square thingies, but there was no additional resistance. I'm not saying you should do this, but once it pulls off I immediately stopped the pulling motion and turned it to make sure it was not connected to anything. It wasn't. Masked the window and painted the facade, inside and outside sides. It then snapped back in place.

Carbon fiber instrument bezel

Haven't heard anything yet, but considering it's the one interior piece that is most in the visual filed there would be an interest in making it. Gotta be patient. :driving:

CarbonSignal 08-11-2013 12:42 AM

We have been really busy with new items for Z and some other cars but will try to get it done sometime this month

tanamerra 08-11-2013 09:14 AM
