If the body shop does a good job you won't be able to tell that the car was painted because they will blend the paint. If you mean painting just one piece of the car like just the bumper then matching the color to the rest of the car will be very difficult. I've had a car painted and also just my bumper alone. I've never had to go back because of paint problems. I hope you didn't take it to macco.

Normally, you will have some small imperfections. Over the last 25 years, I probably have at least 10 body shop experiences. Until I found the current shop that I use, the cars always had to go back for something to be fixed after the initial fixing. Paint imperfections, other than color match, can usually be wetsanded out.

When the dealer sent my car to a body shop to have paint chips fixed, they reshot the hood with clear after blending it in.

When I got it back, it looked horrible - a few shades "lighter" - however, it was due to *really* bad polish by the shop...halo'ing, swirl marks, etc...looked like crap in sunlight.

I complained and they fixed most of it. I had it detailed after that and perfection.

Then I drove it the next day and got a chip in the bumper

well im not gonna find another body shop when i paid this shop already and its a life time warranty here. theres a tiny black piece that it looks like a piece of dirt got stuck in it and a dent but for the dent its smooth it looks like an imperfection on the base coat. for the color it self it matches very well

If its a small tiny black piece of something that got stuck under the clear coat most shops wont redo it because of that.

They might be able to work something out with you on that since it wouldnt fall under warrenty. It woudl fall under a lousy job. You can tell them you took your car there to have it fixed to look like new (which is what a body shop is for) and not to make it look like they replaced one problem with another. It sounds like they took a step sideways instead of a step forward with fixing the problem.

If thats the case they should be able to fix it no problem.

As the consumer you have the right to be 100% satisfied! Also you, like most of us expect perfection and demand it. It's not that big of a job, let them do it till it's correct and your 100% happy. I can tell you from my experience on the other side of things (I'm a business owner) keep the customer happy even if you need to eat a little crow. The shop seems to be very accommodating, which tends to make me think that they know it's not right and it needs to be done over. Just my 2 pennies worth.
