guys we need to let this go. if you want to go with z1 struts then go with them. you dont see me posting on their threads even though they used the design I came up with. They decided to make their own set after they said they did not want to work with me due to the low percentage they would make so they decided to cut out the middle man. simple fact is their kit is sound because I did the Research and development and got it right before selling them to the public the problem comes down to the fact the instructions on how to install them is not there. I lay out the issues that one may have and have had success in helping people fix the problems 99 percent of the time. I have even refunded people that did not like it for one reason or the other. Simply stated you can buy there kit or buy mine they are almost identical. I am doing this to help out the forum members and the only money made goes to the forum ($5 per each sale). So to chops :owned:

now down to business I have about 8 left if all of those that said they were interested comes through. Parts left the supplier and should be arriving soon. I will keep you posted and will send shipping info once I ship them via paypal.

bro, im not trying to start anything with you, so now "owned" here. i was simply stating that the original post makes it out to seem that the z1 hood struts are a problem. i am not defending z1 whatsoever, just wanted to call it out.

Like I said, they were/have been an issue for several people on these forums but not all. Quit trying to make it sound like there was some sort of agenda here.

Estimated delivery :

US:tup:

if this holds true I will be able to get these out by wed/thursday morning and with priority mailing most of you will see these in 3-5days.

remember first come first serve. I have at last count of those that have paid about 8 left.

kellyefields 02-09-2013 08:23 PM

alright parts will be here monday, I will be shipping those that have ordered already on tuesday. I also have something special that I am including with them. I found a way to hold the hood at a lower level for those that want their hood lower for shows and stuff. it is not attached so you will have to keep it in your car but you just have to place it on the shaft to get that lower look if wanted. it will come unpainted so you can paint it black to match the strut or go with color if wanted, just a thank you for placing an order. ;)

I currently have 8 left if someone wants to jump in before shipping on tuesday 12 Feb.

Nut_N_Much 02-10-2013 07:17 AM

I installed this kit in 15min. I love it.. Easy to put in, and functional with no hood bulge. Very well thought out..

The install video is a little strange :icon14: but its right on...

Jasonle 02-10-2013 10:09 AM

LMBmikeZ 02-10-2013 12:00 PM

To be clear: My goal here wasn't to start a pissing contest. I had a Z1 kit ready to purchase until Pintsize said she had issues with it warping her hood on the drivers side and had to uninstall them so I started looking for alternatives. At a MAZOC meet, one of the cars that showed up (I think it might have been xXXChrisXXx) had Kelly's hood damper kit and I really liked what I saw.

I tracked down Kelly on the forums and begged him to build me a set and he asked me to help drum up interest so that he can at least break even on the kits by selling more than just mine. Like literally bugged him until he agreed to make me a set. I think it took 3-4 PMs.

Basically, the guy was doing me a favor. If you have the Z1 kit and are happy with it, great. Several people *have* complained about it kit and Kelly's kit is just another way to go. I'm making no money off of this and Kelly is making very little (if any) so please stop acting like this is some sort of scam.

First off, no one is "acting like this is some sort of scam." I've read all the threads and acknowledge that some folks are having problems with the struts - Z1's and others. I think it is an issue with manufacturing tolerances involving the hood and fenders. None of my friends here have complained about fitment issues. That doesn't mean they don't exist.

The only reason I posted was to point out that NOT everyone is having problems with Z1 struts.

I think Kelly is a great guy. He saw a need, engineered a solution, and shared it. Whether he makes a nickel a set or $100 is none of my business or concern. I hope he is making something to compensate for the the time he has put in.

It's good to see that he is willing to take more time out to help fellow Z owners. :tiphat:
