Here's a comparison to the stock 4300k's
Attachment 59305

Now 4300k's do produce the most lumens. Each level you go up you lose output but I didn't notice to much of difference between 6's and 8's brightness wise and I preferred the color of the 8's so I stuck with them and matched LED parking light bc the stock one looks horrible next to the blue of the 8000k's

You wont be dissapointed, make sure to go with a quality bulb though (phillips etc)

Kinda on topic: what's up with the bulbs that Jim Wolf is selling for like $35 for the pair? Are those complete trash?

Hey guys from what I found out is that cars after 2012 have issues with aftermarket bulbs. My friend just bought a 2013 g37 same problem as mine bulbs go in high beam comes on then off and then doesn't work. Spoke to a few people they told me the same thing I still have not found a solution yet I might as well stay stock :/

Nah we have compatibility issues with cheap bulbs, the mashita gen 4 ballasts is what we have and isn't compatible with bulbs that are even a bit out of spec. I think you can bend the pins or something in the ballasts to make contact better but I rather not.

For some reason Phillips and oem bulbs work perfect

TheGreatOne 02-04-2013 09:56 AM

Interesting. thanks for the update

I bought a cheap pair on Ebay in fall...I was having the same problem you were...wasn't going on, or sometimes only one side goes on etc.

I went to 6000K and I must say much brighter than my stock, but I think its also because my housing is painted, so I lost some brightness.

Anyways, probably going to buy a pair from JWM just incase as these ones I have seem unstable and once its out of storage I just want to drive it worry free lol

get what you pay for i guess lol

Yea that's what I read I will probably either get something high end or just stay stock for now and just paint my headlights or something.

im coming across same issue as op. oems work fine but when i go with the aftermarket hid 6k it turns on for a second then back off. drivers side works but not passenger.

ive gone back to vendor and the service is great but product is deficient. im not sure if its an issue with the relay. i read that 180headlights was looking up on the issue.

My 2012 Z will work with the aftermarket bulbs MOST OF THE TIME, every once and a while I have to switch the lights on and off for both to light up. Now my wife's 2013 Altima doesn't like any after market bulbs at all. They come on then shut right off. I've tried three diffrent brand sets.
