PlastiDip is probably the best product to use for these areas as they are so suceptible to rock chips.
Something I would suggest - before you pull the masking tape off, score the edge with an exacto knife for a laser-sharp edge. It akes a very light touch and a steady hand. Just take your time.
Also, did you know this stuff touches-up great? I had a small part that I miss-masked. I shot some Dip in a cup and used a small modeler's brush to cover the bare area. The Dip flowed into the gap and leveled-out perfectly.

I will have to use that paint brush technique, I did use the razor to cut a small line when i took it all off, Overall id give my 1st time a 8.5 outta 10. I only missed one cuz on the fangs right side, but you can hardly tell!
