You can see the water between the plastic cover and the cardboard backing. This is crap.

As I can see the frustration here.

I can only ask to try to keep a cool head and wait to see how things workout

I would wait for a response to remedy this issue before going on full blast.

Again sorry you guys have had to deal with this issue and I'm hopeful it will be corrected.

I got the silver backing and it seemed like actual weave. Now, I have never seen/felt real CF so I don't know. It is textured on both sides and you can see through some of the areas between the weaves. The back side was also silver so I don't know if it was just the black CF with issues or if mine is cardboard and I'm just a jack@ss.

Did you take the emblems apart? I'd be willing to wager it's not a "weave" on yours either if not.
The plastic overlay on top of the sticker gives a pretty convincing illusion of depth and would be totally fine if they were sealed properly.

Edit: Also, apologies for wigging out last night. Not constructive - just saw red because I felt like I had been ripped off.

I was so close to jumping on these as they looked great in the pictures. Glad I didn't now and was skeptical about the backing and was waiting for a full report. Sorry for the guys who were the guinea pig on this one. I hope it gets worked out and a solution is found for the issue.

I'm currently in Los Angeles getting ready for SEMA. All the carbon back plates are made with real carbon fiber hard pressed sheets. Black carbon are made with 3K cross weave carbon. Silver are made with plaine weave carbon. As for the flat black back plate problem I will have some made with acrylic hard back plate. Will have these done once I get back from SEMA in Las Vegas. I have not got a chance to reply here since I was on the plane for 13 hrs.

BTW on the black CF version. On the back of it had some 3M paper film on it. That is just a paper to cover the adhesive back of the carbon plate. That part might confuse people think it is made of some cardboard.

I took the CF off to paint. Like I said, I don't know what real CF is suppose to feel like but it seemed like it was weaved together. He's saying it's real...I don't know what else to believe. I'm gonna let it ride and install tomorrow. Pics to follow.
