If it worked when you pressed the brake, it wouldn't be a fog lamp. If your car has the fog lamp, it would be activated by rotating the headlight switch

If it worked when you pressed the brake, it wouldn't be a fog lamp. If your car has the fog lamp, it would be activated by rotating the headlight switch on the turn signal another stop further. You'd also have a fog lamp symbol for this additional switch location on the yolk. However, if I recall correctly, the Canadian version doesn't have the fog lamp. I could be wrong so someone correct me if I am.
