I just got the new shift knob installed yesterday. Man, what an improvement over the OEM in looks and feel. Very happy. I have a Nifty Shifty boot coming soon as well.

MACSIMIZER 06-09-2012 08:36 AM

Looks very nice, is this the UAM brushed aluminium?

Exactly what I was thinking, was taking a nice clean clear photo that hard. Thanks NXTAZEE.

DarkJak 06-09-2012 12:58 PM

Oh this looks nice!

How hard was the install and does the pushing down to move motion feel natural enough? Is it really light pressure to push down?

Trips 06-09-2012 01:01 PM

Very NICE

sexZness 06-09-2012 01:20 PM

Ooo~ nice! I may do this in the near future!

Do they have any other finishes/colors?

NXTAZEE 06-09-2012 03:40 PM

Yeah, I thought I would post up some decent photos so people will have a good idea of the quality of this product. It's "really" nice work. The install was very easy. Took about three minutes to remove the OEM knob and install the UAM. I had to adjust it up about an 1/8 of an inch after I had it installed, as it would not shift smoothly. This is because it can not sit too low on the trigger, which has to be fully released when the knob is not pressed down. Pushing down to move the stick feels quite natural. There is enough resistance in the spring to make it feel solid, but also not too stiff. In time I'm sure it will become slightly softer, but that will be fine. You can rest your hand on top of the knob and it does not move at all. The finishes for Aluminum include brushed, polished and a black finish. There is also Titanium finished in a brushed, polished and a burnt finish. Over all I would rate this product a 10 out of 10. It's actually a little more fun to drive with this knob over the OEM.

Wow that actually looks really good!

:bowrofl: good to know you're easy... :ugh: to befriend, geez! :rofl2:

/derail

it doesn't get confusing at all! I signal, shift down, steer with my left

and shift up and give the finger (when necessary) with my right :icon17:

speedfreek 06-12-2012 01:47 PM

I find myself to be more of an equal opportunist..in that I give the finger with both hands equally.

sexZness 06-12-2012 01:48 PM

my left hand is usually busy holding down the horn... :ugh:

You see but the horn only startles them and could cause them to crash into you or drive off the road. While the double bird lets them know how you really feel about it. :rofl2:

sexZness 06-12-2012 01:53 PM

hell, they hit me, they pay for my upgrades

they hit something else, it's none of my gd business ;)

speedfreek 06-12-2012 01:57 PM

While I agree with you on if they hit something else it's none of my business. I do not want them to hit me as upgrades are nice and all...but they will never be able to match my paint back up to my satisfaction.:shakes head:

But hey about that A/T shift knob. Looks great. I would definately get one if mine was auto.

twinturbonet 06-12-2012 02:51 PM

What's automatic?

Shifter looks good tho :P lol.

gbrettin 06-12-2012 02:54 PM

Im interested in a link as well. That shifter looks pretty spiffy.

I do that sometimes too :icon17:

NickTurnon 06-12-2012 03:07 PM

Do you push it down or something to shift? The A/T has a button that you have to hold down. I dont see one..

That is correct, the shift knob is pushed down to engage in and out of park. For those who would like to order one, I think there is a new thread started on this site for a group buy. Otherwise, G35driver.com is where the manufacturer of these shift knobs resides. He has been selling them on that site for a while now.

bonfire 06-13-2012 08:47 PM

These can be found on this forum as well. I have been considering one for a while now.

He uses the same pictures on g35driver.com that you mentioned.

That thread has been closed I believe. There is a more recent thread, which I previously mentioned, for the group buy. The photos originated from G35driver, as they have been selling them for a year or more over there. Again, this is a fantastic product. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I should have the nifty shifty boot next week some time, and will post pics when installed. Here is a photo of the boot which the manufacture took.

bonfire 06-14-2012 01:21 PM

My bad. Guess i'm a little special, but I didn't see any link that you mentioned. I like the way the Knob looks. Thanks for sharing the Pics. Looking forward to the boot pics installed.

twinturbonet 06-14-2012 02:00 PM

I'm real curious to see a picture with the boot installed on the auto. I'm sure it's going to look great.

kenchan 06-14-2012 03:14 PM

looking forward to the finished product, NXT!

MDZOwner 06-14-2012 06:29 PM

Thought this might be useful as you install the boot. It was very helpful to me and shows options.

Got my brushed aluminum knob in the mail today, install was a breeze. Here are some pics with the manual shift boot console assembly and the knob.
