Default Rear fog light harness in rear bumper?

So i have a 2012 dont know if years make any difference but...

I was messing around with the fog block out plug (stock black one) and noticed a harness near it. The harness looks to be capped off. Is this to plug into the JDM/EURO version rear fog lights? The plug is right next to the black dummy light.

If not what is this plug for?

ok in this picture.... you can see the part where the harness plugs into, he doesn't seem to have one connected. But right next the the block off you can see the cap, or whatever it is. Mine has an actual harness pluged into it. This is a picture i took off of the DIY section

Then here is my picture... you can see a harness plugged into that cap.... whatever it is.

What is this for?

Ok so I just plugged in the Jdm fog light to it. The plug fits 100%

Only thing is we don't have a switch for the fog light.....

This may be easier to wire up than we expected....

Only thing I think we need is a switch and relay maybe in the engine?

If someone can figure out how to utilize this factory harness that would be great......

I just confirmed it fits the Jdm fog lights plug... So apparently the harness was capped off for US cars...but it definitely is the plug for the fog light.

I did some digging, and apparently we can use the JDM switch stalk on the steering column and this thing is pretty much plug and play.

Makes the fog light install the easiest without tearing apart your interior but the only problem is the windshield wipers controls are now on the left side. and blinkers on the right

Man if someone from Canada can order the stalk switch assembly that would be golden

Pardon my ignorance, I read the instructions on the other thread (really good by the way). Does this mean that on the 2012s we don't need to run the wiring through the whole interior?

It would be nice if all we have to do is replace the light and the control stack (or even better, set the button up on the center panel) and not have to tear the interior apart.

Again, sorry if I am misunderstanding.

Hi
So my car is 2016 roadster. Most people run switch to the 3 blank switches.Mine where full so could not do.Light plugs into harness at back of car.I used Canadian stalk.Controls are on correct side.To get indicator on dash to work you need to solder in dash light.Install stalk.Make sure you get steering wheel back on straight. Two open spots in fuse box.Put fuses in them and your good to go.

I do not know about other years of Z than mine. Not many changes have been made so I would assume it's similar.

Ok I picked up the JDM light from Z1 with the additional harness to prevent hacking up my factory harness.

If you hook up like I did you do not have to cut into harness. The way you are hooking up will be nice install without cutting.Hook up as a fog light not brake light. The reason I went to all that trouble was I did not have a spot where I wanted to put switch.
