That thing isn't ever going to be finished! But then again, are any of them ever really finished?
|
Lol it will be mike hehe I am tired of watching te money leave my bank accounts by the bags! Modding is an expensive addiction and I will be starting the: mike Mixon center for mod addiction! Also known as M.A.A. Lmao!!!
|
Final result will probably look great, but cutting up the sheet metal and a lot of metal cuts & welding and body filler will be used there. Just don't drive in the rain or wash to much, in 2-3 yrs. your going to get rust and paint peeling in that area, mostly coming thru the back side to the surface.
Problem is with all that welding on the underside, it really needs to be treated with bead blasting or a heavy wire brush to remove a lot the the slag or welding residue from the metal, due to welding it back together. Then properly treated with quality anti corrossion metal treatment and coating, then painted |
The whole underside of the fenders will be cleaned and treated for anti corrosion... This isn't a cheap mod lol... DTM is one of the BEST shops in the country to do this mod!
|
The cost to replicate is over $10k++++

I wonder what will be wider, this Z or one of those Ford Heavy Super Duty trucks.
|
The Z will be like this:
|
I cranked the car a few times for a few people at SEMA to show them it did run. This was one of those times. Its short but shows the car runs and is beastly!
*Note: You are not allowed to start your car at SEMA for any reason... I got special permission for an interview with the Gran Turism team for my interview. I stretched my permission and did it a few more times for a couple of publications.* I had less than a gallon of gas so I kept it short. |
pretty much all i have to say about this: :eek2:

good progress! thank god you don't have a sunken fuel cap filler lol, looks so dodgy on some cars when they put a wide body kit on it but leave the fuel cap sunken in and don't modify it.
looking awesome man, how much longer now approx? Also are you going with a custom sideskirt or modifying existing ones? |
Thanks Mikey!
We are modifying the existing Zele kit. Big Props to DTM! |
i really cant wait for the finished look Mike! and i agree with Mikey, the fuel cap stand out better this way

Nice to see what my Z could have looked like lol. I got quoted no less then 8k just to widen the rears properly from the good shops in my area. One of the many reasons I have fell off of modding this car much more.
Looks great bullet! |
I will have update pics today or tomorrow of the progress :D
