Would it be better for me to just paint the entire car in a different custom colour? It seems like a waste to paint the other body panels in pearl white when I could might as well paint the entire car in a colour like matte red.

How far do you want to go? Remove the engine, strip out the interior, etc? Or just the outer panels and such?

Outer panels. Or is that a bad idea if some parts are still in factory colour?

That's the cheaper route, but I think you'll regret it later. Every time you open your door, hood, or trunk you'll see the white. A good paint job including jambs and engine bay will cost you a couple G's.

If you can do it yourself, wrap, then it will save you a good bit of money but a professional wrap done properly is 3-4k plus vinyl can scratch easy.
I would say stick with the color of your car now, just painting those few pieces should not break the bank and in a few years if you want a color change go all out. Drop the motor, door areas, etc.

I would say around $10k for the whole car at a premium shop, give or take. It really depends on the shop, the type of paint used and prep time involved.

In WI, at a good shop, quotes I recieved ran anywhere between 11k and 16k depending on how much prep you wanted to do ( engine out, etc).

Just get the kit painted and if you plan on keeping the car a while, then respray it. Keep in mind that you rarely get your money back when it comes time to sell the car.

there should be no need at all to strip the entire car.at my shop a color change will probably run 7~9k . thats doors off hood off hatch off but you would need to have the engine bay striped of parts and motor somewhere else. my boss dont like getting into that stuff . just a straight repaint same color is 4~6k range depending on color and prepwork

Here's a thought....

Go to at least three body shops and get quotes. That should answer you question.
