Depending on the alloy, titanium is 40% less dense that most steel alloys. However if you have a solid or semi-solid titanium shift knob, it's going to be heavy. It's just like the old Spoon titanium shift knobs that were offered for Hondas, as well as the OEM titanium shift knob available from Honda as an option for the S2K. Those knobs are not light and if you look inside, it's all titanium with no separate core or sleeve.
Most aftermarket shift knobs are aluminum with a steel counterweight, which make them heavy. A solid titanium shift knob is also going to be heavy. |
