Tinting my headlights

Ok so guys my Z is pretty much murdered out except the headlights. I am kinda skeptical about having them opened and painted cause i had some problems with that before on my old car. I know a lot of people have had the housing painted and had no problems but if i can just tint them id prefer that. Now my question is, with a 20% tint up front with my lights be visible at night? Cops here in Miami have given be problems about my tail lights so i cant imagine what they would say about my head lights being tinted.

Just buy the tinted covers or laminix... if you have a problem they are removable.

Not a fan of the tinted look, if you can wait to save more for the painted versions it would be better off in the long run since tint is known to damage headlights after awhile.

Yeah, basically any headlight overlay doesn't allow the headlight to expand/contract with the heat generated from the xenon lamps. This causes stress fractures that look like spider cracks throughout the headlight.

I wouldn't suggest using any overlay on your headlights.

Damn I really want to have my headlights black also but I don't want to open them. Guess they are staying clear

you guys are saying the tint wont expand the few thousandths of an inch that the headlight will expand? i find that hard to believe.

People have been tinting headlights on Z33's for awhile now and there are several instances of it happening.

Yep- Fuct, please feel free to try it out prove us wrong. It's been happening ever since the 2006 350z dropped.

prob the opening them up part. if you havnt worked on opening and properly sealing headlights it can be a headache. i learned my lesson on my first set of IS300 headlights. its an art.

Well i didnt open them i had a place do it on my old IS350, looked fine but problem was that they must not have sealed it well water began to condensate inside the light. It was a pain in the *** for them to fic it cause they said it wasnt them and it was just a mess so that really put me off to the idea of doing it again.
