Default Caliper paint chipping

Car is 14 months old and has 4,200 miles. Noticed that the paint on my front passenger caliper is starting to chip away at the corner.

I've never used anything other than soap and water to clean them. No abrasives or harsh chemicals.

Is this something that Nissan will replace under warranty? Anyone had a similar issue?

I'm going to run it by the dealer tomorrow, but think I may just go ahead and use gun metallic touch up paint to fill the chipped area if they can't do anything about it.

It could have been a rock chip, sometimes rocks get tossed into the wheel area where they can chip the wheels or if the brake calipers if they contact them. I would still talk to the dealer but more than likely, they will not warranty it.

The touch up idea is likely your best option.

Sounds like a perfect excuse to have them powder coated by Mike.

came across this after searching about the issue because mine also has the same issue. both side of the caliper on the same exact spot. I have the 2013 nismo.

Did the dealer do anything for you about this issue?

i would just touch it up with some engine enamel.

I had stains on my calipers from the brake fluid leaking onto it. I got my local dealer to replace all 4 under warranty without any fight. I don't know if you'd have the same luck or not, but I guess it's worth a try.
