Been working on a 2nd project today, then went out shooting. Gonna finish up the 2nd project tomorrow and take pics of both.

I've used a bunch so far. Hopefully I can refrain from going overboard with it. All the badging, the mirrors, and the front fangs have been done so far. Next weekend I'm planning on doing the rear fascia part around that bottom light thingy. I'll try and get some decent pictures taken and posted...if it would quit raining here and getting my car dirty.

Ooooh, pictures pwease! I've got a Monterey Blue as well and we really love to see how it turns out!

how long do you think you can leave plasti dip on your emblems? will it become harder to take off after lets say maybe a couple of months?

happytheman 08-14-2011 10:09 AM

Read another post that even after 1 year it was easy to remove.

Dunno if you'd want to use it as such in consideration that it has a slight textured appearance, making it pretty visible. Perhaps for temporary coverage on long trips it would be ok.

I was planning on the same thing, see below, it has been done.

Since plasti dip is removed pretty easy without hurting the finish on the wheels has anyone thought about using the plasti dip as like a primer then getting some krylon and painting over to get a better looking finish?

Earlier in the post it was said that the clear was not a good idea. Do you think the wheels would look better if you applied more coats? I'm thinking of doing this to my wheels. Does anyone have an idea of how long they will last?

Did mine two nights ago, missed a tiny spot but I'm very happy with this stuff. Gonna do my rear valence tomorrow :happydance:

Just in case no one has already mentioned this yet, you should mask off as much of your car as possible especially when if it's windy out. I spent 4 hours yesterday removing little specs of sprayback..

did my burgers and side view mirrors :X tomorrow ill attempt the side marker z and is there a way to do the handle while on the car? i tried taking it out and i dropped a screw lmao and i have no idea how to take off the second screw on the bottom of the driver side door.

Plasti-dip FAIL: What not to do

Yeah def the power washer... they will strip paint fairly easily, especially when the jack-off is doing it from point blank range...

For the people who used plasi-dip on their rims. Did you get any wheel wobble at all at speed ? Since the plasti dip changes the weight on your rims.
