oh no.. gtr start button isnt the only OEM part sites will be selling... real soon sigs will have GTR start button and GTR Shift Knob.... I am going to pass this info on to a friend of mine who has an Auto, he constantly talks about how he hates the stock one, maybe he'll pick it up...

on the auto knob are there notches on the top of the metal shifter? of is it just a straight pipe? So cutting wouldnt be an issue at all?

The shift knob sits perfect if u r interested u have to purchase the knob and clips that hold it it is possible to make the shifter shorter but requires some fabrication and cutting I am hevaly considering doing this guys what do you think? Lol

That would be my thought.

not sure however you are probably right in that it's threaded (rather than just a slide off and clip)

Yeah. My concern would be you'd have to rethread it after cutting it Dow

If you can take the piece out and get a CF wrap or have someone make a CF version of it. Shouldnt be a problem.

zuperman 370 07-05-2011 03:19 PM

Question is will it be hard to shorten the gear to make it shorter I mean? Has anyone attempted that yet or know what is required in the process ?

zuperman 370 07-05-2011 03:36 PM

For the booth I was thinking of custom making a leather booth just like the one for the maual booth and using the gtr knob what do u guys think?

Econ 07-05-2011 03:56 PM

i think yes.

But the US Spec GT-R Knob will be in a different badging for shift positions correct? We need the JDM Spec knob so the manual mode is on the Left? :icon08:

js1 07-05-2011 05:20 PM

Where would we be able to purchase the jdm spec gtr automatic shift knob

KaienZ34 07-05-2011 05:29 PM

Does the shift pattern really matter? It's jut P-R-N-D....

Well in all reality know, but in terms of taste, and it fitting the part I would think you'd like it to match. I wouldn't buy one just because it's from a GT-R and fap on it for that. But if it still is aesthetically pleasing and matches then hell yeah.

Might as well just take the GT-R badge off of one and glue it on a Z, same idea... Would just just as tacky if it wasn't done right with a GT-R kit and all. :icon17:

KaienZ34 07-05-2011 05:48 PM

If they have a better shifter i'd go for that. I never will put the gtr start on the Z, i just don't like how the red looks very out of place. It doesn't matter if it came out of a lambo, it just looks dumb the only peice of red in the whole car.
