Dang, those are intense wings. I prefer just normal spoilers tbh.
I really like this one for the coupe. http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/...tions/370z.jpg |
That's just the stock spoiler. Branch out a little. Be bold. Lol.

When done right bigger spoilers can look awesome, but they can also look like trash when over done. In my little world of Time Attack it's all about function, and for some teams they have spoilers big enough to have thanks giving dinner on.
When it comes down to it's all about what you like. Your the one who has to look at it every day when you get into YOUR CAR. If your happy then thats all that matters and no one can take that from you. |

SO help me find something good! I do like the Amuse and Nismo spoiler, but if i can find something more like a GT style that isnt huge i'd rather look that way. |
The Nismo and Seibon are great. Basically the same thing. But looks very nice. Fits the Z well. Sort like the spoiler on the Supra. Just fits.
The wings have to be tastefully done. Which IMO it needs to be created just for the Z and it's lines. Which is where the Ings comes in play. There are a few others but I've only seen them on Z's in Japan. Not sure if you can get stateside. |

Ok, what wing were we talking about? |

but i need some more wing/spoiler ideas. Or if anyone happens to have an amuse spoiler sitting around.... |
Someone here NEEDS to get the Z power wing, there is absolutely NO ONE with it, so no really good set of pics with it on the 370 and I personally think it would be the best wing for the Z. The wing itself is actually the exact same design and shape as the porshe gt3RS...so that on our car would = WINNING!
Please someone get on this, or one of our sponsors order this and put it on a shop car, because I am sure as soon as an entire album comes out of pics of this wing on a car A LOT of people would jump on to buy it. |

The guys from Performance Motorsports have this:

back there is def more functional. and that could double as my bike rack with some modifications.
Gonna email those guys thanks Quote:

voltex and apr are great quality for those styles of spoilers...but Iv never been a fan of them. Spoilers that sit lower, they can be just as wide though, and match the body lines of the car is always win.
Im biased...look at my sig |

OMG that wing is huge!
I'm sure it's super-functional but huge nonetheless. |

Anyone know where I can get a Voltex wing without a monster lead time? :-D

Typically wings are so difficult to sell stateside that VERY few vendors stock them. We have a Ings+1 GT wing with Evo X wing stands that we stocked a few months back that's still gathering dust. |

so is there anyone out there who would seriously get a INGS wing if it were available?

It was way too pricy.. But I've been saving up for it.. but i cant get it installed yet.. gotta wait 3 month cuz im leaving the country for awhile and the install is pricy with all the holes to fill up. I'll post pics right after i get it installed |
I do. Hehe

A wing that large is only functional if your car is moving faster than 140mph. Even then, it really doesn't do anything. You guys with huge wings better be track racers.

do you rev your motor to redline everytime you drive and go full throttle? cus otherwise our 3.7 isnt really anything better than a 2.0 i4... just sayin.. |
I'm surprised how popular huge wings are with Z owners. I guess it's the cool thing to do if you have a Z.

P.S ask someone who tracks alot, aka Mike, if his wing is useless under 140mph.. |
^ right on.
And I do believe they create downforce at way lower speeds than 140. At least according to APR. But hey maybe you know more than them? But I will be tracking a couple times left in the year. More so next year. But if you saw me on the street you would still laugh not knowing. |
I do not doubt that they create down force. I also agree that huge wings on track cars are fine. But, it's when I see it on the public streets that I cringe. Maximum speed limit is 45mph on a public street and 65mph on freeways. How much down force is really needed to keep the rear from lifting on public streets?
Mike's car is a track car, so it's understandable that he has a huge wing. Most of the time, he'll be moving faster than 80mph. From what I can remember, Mike's car is not a public street car, he tows its to his tracking events. |
Quote:
see now your back tracking. you said they wont do anything under 140mph. and thats crap. True they arent "needed" on the street. But then our cars themselves arent needed for the street either. we should all go buy a honda fit or something. I see, now quoting speed limits, (roads here, non highway go up to 60, and some highways are 70). If you quote speed limits, you better be damn sure you never speed yourself. |
Plus you don't need to be going fast enough to lift the rear of the car in order to benefit from downforce.
None of this even matters if someone is adding a wing because they like the way it looks. |
