I'd at least get some sort of tint on your windows to protect the interior from sun damage and fading. That's just me though.

His windows are tinted. I've seen his Z in real-life.

That's highly unusual, I would expect old interior to split like that.

Wow, thanks for posting. Living in Phoenix, this is a very real possibility for me.

Off the top of my head, the only thing the 350z door panels were susceptible to were finger nails.

BP Nissan called me today, said they can't order the part, Nissan won't let them unless they have an interior guy at there shop try to repair it first. I think it's kind of lame, I know they won't be able to match that pattern, I've done vinyl repair before and even on a smooth surface it's noticable. + they want me to leave the car with them over night.

^ wow, that's plain bs.

Tell them to :gtfo2: . I can't believe they are repairing it :shakes head: instead of just changing the door panel. It's not going to match doesn't matter how well they repair it!

frost 04-22-2009 09:18 PM

^ agreed

Anyway, I came out of work today to find this. Apparently the interior got too hot and split. :eekdance: I was headed to the dealer to pick up a part, so I talked to the SA. He said he never seen anything like that before. He said he would order a replacement panel and it would take about 5 days. He never mentioned warranty though, I'm assuming this would be covered, right?

That vinyl looks really thin.

say no to bs!

arcticreaver 04-22-2009 10:39 PM

have you talked to the service manager? this is not acceptable. if it's covered under warranty, it should be replaced and not repaired.

My son is a "Dr Vinyl" in our area. He took a look at your pictures and told me that there is no way it can be matched and look like it hasn't been repaired. Plus repairs do not last. Most of his repairs are done on used cars so the dealer can get the car out the door and down the road at the least cost. Tell your dealer you will not stand for a repair and want a new panel since your car is in warranty. Plus I cannot believe that Nissan wants bad Publicity on this car in this Economy..................
