Getting the little screws out of the bezel with everyone's warning to "not drop the screws" in the back of my mind was tough. It's hard holding the dash cover up while trying to remove the screws by hand just as they are about to come out. Putting them back in was the same drama, but it just takes some patience. Job done.

Kudos to CarbonSignal. It took a little longer than expected to get the pieces, but blame that on the custom matte finish, the guys moving the shop, and the holidays. No big drama as none of these pieces impacted me driving the car.

I'd highly recommend these trim pieces. They are high quality, fit good and look great.

thats a good point man... i had to ask my wife to hold up the cover while i unscrewed it.... and having a magnetic tip screwdriver is your life saver.... to the fuel gauge overlay man im happy you got one :D

LOL! The one thing that kept crossing my mind was that I needed three hands to do this.

Hey there,
Both of you, Gurneyeagle & Simota1, did an outstanding job! All that a bag of chips and
12 Snapples to go! It's amazing what all of us "Z Addicts" will do to get our next "fix" for
our "babies"! I am already planning for my next addition! What about you two? LOL
Take care & keep your Z's looking crisp!

Thank you for the compliment Ken. Like simota1, I'm almost done too (for now :icon17:) I've got a carbon fiber ducktail on order, and then I'm going to sit back and just drive, clean, and polish.

Regards,

Mike

anyone whos ordered from CS.. did you receive a bill from fedex after your package was delivered for "customs, duties, tax, other fees"?? in the fine print it states that "USUALLY, these are paid before the package was sent out" anyone share the same experience?

We pay our local customs/taxes before shipping items however we have no control in destination custom regulations. Its the same for all orders we ship...

kenhdcgov 03-29-2012 02:46 AM

Yep, I got the bill as well. Needless to say, I was surprised but I paid it. It wasn't a large amount so it was no big deal. But it was a "WTF" moment!

I highly recommend you start telling your customers this. I know its only $19 bucks but it just adds to the entire negative experience I have had so far.. not to mention already paying $75 dollars for shipping. So I am paying 100+ dollars to ship something that took me 3 months to get?

GaleForce 03-29-2012 12:36 PM

You guys have it good. This is expected in Canada. BTW, shipping is a heck of a lot more than $75 to Canada too. And if something comes via UPS!!! Look out! UPS robs us blind. Having said that, the team at Carbon Signal did something to help lessen the UPS brokerage sting without me even asking them, (saving me hundreds of $$$'s). It was a huge relief, as a result I ordered from them again.

Im not sure maybe this is first time you ordered something which is imported by yourself in US. We people outside US here in Dubai pay 5% import custom on invoice (part price + chipping) on every single shipment and none of the vendors on forum and outside forum pay for us. I think import duties are customer's responsibility everytime.

Some vendors have lowered the invoice value on my request at times but for body parts its very risky, as if there is any damage in the shipment then courier insurance will cover that lowered value only.

It is not the first time ordering from outside the country. I think other times it was paid at the time of shipment. Oh well this is a very small problem and I dont mind paying it. Just wanted to hear other peoples experiences...
