Default Escort 9500ix and BlendMount Question

I've decided to purchase an Escort 9500ix with a Blendmount that will attach it to my rearview mirror. My question is if other people who have this mount leave the detector always mounted or if they remove it when they leave the car. I don't know how easy it is to remove this from the mount. I'm a little nervous about leaving a $500 item in plain view and I'm not looking to get my car broken in to.

I have a V1 & this mount (Mirror Radar Mount for the Valentine-1 Radar Detector) and sometimes leave the V1 up. If I am in a public place it gets taken down, but at my office, or in a controlled garage/parking area I leave it up.

It should be very easy to remove from the mount, at least the V1 is. Depends on your area but I've always left mine in for the most part. If it's somewhere bad, then I'll take it out and put it in the glove box.
