Very Cheap Alternative to the Factory Spoiler!!!!

I found a great factory spoiler alternative and I figured I would share this with the 370z community. This one looks to be 100% just like the OEM one. I bought a base without the spoiler. I did not want to fork over the price of the OEM one, or swap hatches since mine is VIN etched. This spoiler was only $139.00 with paint and shipping.:happydance:

The paint is perfect. Looks as good as or better than the factory finish. The color is dead on. It has 3 coats of base and 3 coats of clear. I took the cover off my car and have only test fitted it on my car since its still cold out and the car will not have anything installed on it until I start driving it again. The company it actually came from is Wingtech according to the tracking and invoice.

WingTech Aerodynamic Prepainted Spoilers

I bought it from this Ebay link. The seller is thespoilercompany and have excellent feedback.

Here are some pictures. If there is some sort of interest maybe I can do a write up when I install it.

I don't like the word cheap. It looks good though. Keep updates after some time has past.

fairladyZ34 02-16-2011 06:10 PM

Looks like they make one for the G37 too, and ive been wanting to replace my ugly chrome one...

The invoice shows that DuPont was used. Compared to Nissans eco-friendly paint that you can dent with your fingernail I think it should be ok. The rest of it is plastic so no worries in that department. Will keep people posted.

b1adesofcha0s 02-16-2011 06:40 PM

Yes!!! I bought the same one. I'm just waiting for mine to ship, it should be any day now.

Jordo! 02-16-2011 06:58 PM

Do they offer any other pre-painted wings?

Nevermind -- just looked. Bunch for the 350 and other nissans.

dad 02-16-2011 07:02 PM

The color match looks excellent.

I would advice against it, we've installed several OEM rep spoilers and they are truely a pain in the ***, maybe not in the Z's case but the factory reverse camera on the G mounts to the spoiler, and there's no mounting brackets on the rep. spoilers so you have to glue it in. Some rep spoilers don't even fit properly and you have little gaps on each side of the spoiler because the curve is not 100% dead on.

If you want, we can ship you a OEM spoiler with a camera hole, painted to your specs when we ship back the taillights. Let me know soon. ;)

true but the these incidents are not all the time. what do you expect for that price.. little modification your still ahead especially if it comes already painted. still worth it.

Good find!!!....I too bought a base, during negotiating I requested a OEM spoiler at dealer cost, and charge me half that price with installation, ended up being a little over $300 bucks, but had I known of this sooner, I would have reconsidered and opted for some other goodies during negotiation. I think this spoiler looks the best on the 370z, it's clean, simple, and classy yet aggressive just my opinion:)

It looks stock as does the color. Good find.

Red__Zed 02-17-2011 10:21 AM

looks great! good price as well.

Zlips 02-17-2011 10:23 AM

Wow, great find. How is the install process?

SoCal 370Z 02-17-2011 10:27 AM

I wonder how long Nissan will allow this to be sold before sending the lawyers out?

Install is pretty simple. You have two tabs that stick on the bottom with holes in the center. The holes line up with the holes pre drilled into the spoiler. This is a template for the holes you will need to drill in the trunk. You line up your spoiler and tape the tabs to the trunk. When you remove the spoiler the tabs are stuck to the trunk with holes where you need to drill. After that its silicone, hardware, and red 3m double side tape which is pre installed to the bottom of the spoiler. When I do mine I will do a DIY write up for everyone.

Zlips 02-17-2011 10:59 AM

That is great, looking forward to the DIY write up.

Installed Pics....will add more when there is day light and I have the digi out. These are from my Evo.

dnasty370z 07-21-2011 04:47 PM

lol Looks awesome looks like that guy advising you to stay away was wrong this is a big time come up It's pretty much a $500+ difference.

b1adesofcha0s 07-21-2011 05:10 PM

Yeah. I didn’t want to trade hatches due to vin etching and this spoiler was such a great deal. The paint is DuPont and it honestly was an amazing color match. I do not have a single complaint.

hardroc86 01-13-2012 04:42 PM

Just ordered mine from them directly, very easy to deal with and you gotta love free shipping! I'm excited and can't wait, they told me mine goes for paint on Monday!

jpritche 01-13-2012 04:58 PM

I have had mine for almost 2 years. Everything still looks great!!

b1adesofcha0s 01-13-2012 05:30 PM

I've had mine for almost a year now and it's been great. The only thing that annoys me is that water ALWAYS gets trapped under the spoiler when it rains or when I wash the car.

This^^

I understand that a replica will NEVER be as good as factory, but this is damn close. I have had really no complaints whatsoever. I would recommend this to everyone who doesn't want to fork out for the factory one. Who knows the paint could actually be better than factory...

hardroc86 01-13-2012 09:12 PM

Ill be sure to post pics of my spolier when I get it sometime next week!

I just took my factory one off for a repaint, I can tell you it has waay more than 2 screws. It has 4 screws + something like 8 clipon bracket type things.

But what I can tell you is that it's pretty sealed along the edges, did the seal go all the way around in this one? Or are there gaps?

I dont know about that. My factory spoiler, though it seems like its tightly sealed, still traps some water after wash/rain.

hardroc86 01-14-2012 06:46 PM

Spoliers will never be perfect factory or not, I have heard great things about this spolier and am more than happy to fork over 140 for a great color matched spolier that fits well, if I have to add a little more insulation than so be it, Im still at least 500 ahead on this. Never hurts to have some faith :) I'll post pics when mine arrives!

To be completely honest I do not remember if it did or not. I am perfectly happy with mine though, and it saved me some money!!

wish I would have found this link earlier- I just bought the same one through carid.com and while the product is the same (same box your image indicates anyway), I will not buy from them again. Ever.

hardroc86 01-28-2012 02:42 PM

Ah sorry about them man. WingTech is awesome, great service and great product.

ccdominic 01-28-2012 03:31 PM

Awesome find. I've been considering purchasing one for mine. +rep for you my friend.
