I orderded mine on a Tues night had it by Fri night. Fitment was perfect and perfect color match. I think it was the same seller got it for $129 shipped.

It comes with double sided tape all around and in some sections in the middle. Also 2 screws to drill into trunk. I actually didn't have mine drilled, I just put it on myself after a lined everything up with just the 2 sided tape its fitted with.

Spoiler is real light so issues with hinges.

Can the mods change the title to eBay spoiler and why you should buy one? Lol

Just so we lessen the amount of threads asking if the eBay spoilers are ok

P-Kidd 01-31-2013 10:42 PM

Just ordered mine today, should be here in a couple of days. Hope I get the same positive results as you all. Will post pics after the install.

So how is the double sided tape holding up??? I'm not thrilled about driling holes.

seizer8 02-04-2013 09:15 PM

I bought the same spoiler and I'm also waiting til spring. My car is Platinum Graphite and the color match is very close, but not perfect. I think it's close enough though. My concern is that there are only four bolts to hold it in place along with the tape strips. I think the OEM spoiler has a lot more bolts. I think. Think it will be a problem?

Not sure, but I know what might help along these lines. There is a weight that is mounted under the rear hatch that probably weighs about a pound that you could remove to partly make up for the weight of the wing.

I notice he has a 2011 - I have an early model 2011 (does have the SLU). I went to remove the weight in the rear hatch, only to find there was no weight.

Its $80 to ship to Canada.... :'(

Can it be installed without drilling it and using extra 3M double sided tape?

Dlm6568 03-04-2013 06:31 PM

Just got mine today, color looks spot on!

Waiting for this weekend to install waiting for some better weather.

Question: how do you prevent from rust developing around the drilled holes? and what leaking around the holes how do you prevent that from happening?

thanks

Rust will not be a problem--the hatch is aluminum. But, if it makes you feel better you can always paint the freshly drilled holes with touch-up paint. Just pick up something close from your local auto parts store. It does not need to match perfectly since it will be hidden anyway.

As for leaking--I have not installed this on my Z, but I have installed "ebay" spoilers on other cars I have owned over the years. I am a bit OCD about preventing leaks. On the other spoilers I have installed, I used a rubber washer between the spoiler and the trunk lid, with a bit of silicone sealant between the rubber washer and the trunk lid. Inside the trunk I used more silicone sealant (much more) and a larger fender washer. I finished up by encasing the entire bit of hardware inside the trunk with even more silicone sealant.

I bought the same one about a year ago with the same RAE code and came to me perfect. Looks great still after a year with no problems. No one can tell the difference!

chknhawk 03-05-2013 11:43 AM

I went and checked out the link. Nice. Not bad for the price. It looks very good on your car.

On that same note... if anyone is looking for instant TURBO power look no more. This premium bolt on kit will get everyone thinking you have turbo!!! :-P

okay here she is installed, fit was 98% very minor gaps but not noticeable.
Install 3 out of 5, extra set of hands would be helpful.
color match was spot on.

So in the end very pleased with the product and the outcome.

Tada!!

Burton001 03-12-2013 12:23 PM

hm looks nice... and also really cheap then factory spoiler.. but did this have same quality as factory manufactured. Are you satisfied with the quality of the spoiler... because mostly these things fly in high speed.

NickTurnon 04-08-2013 11:57 AM

UPDATE: I have had the spoiler for about a month now. I just slapped it on without drilling it. I did add a few more strips of 3M tape.

I am a little skeptical at higher speeds. I feel like its just going to whip off and slam into someones windshield. But if I tug on it, it doesn't even wiggle.

I might have it properly drilled and installed when the summer starts to melt some of the 3M tape!

I meant to use only the tape and not drilling it.

My lip spoiler on my Gencoupe is only held by doubled sided 3M tape and it's been on for 3 years.

alvitdk 04-13-2013 03:50 PM

Received mine yesterday and put it on today, 4 hands do make it easier. The color is great, the fit is pretty good, but I do see some minor imperfections, not on the top bt at the lower part. Nothing noticeable, unless you know where to look, but at 129.- shipped and painted, it's an awesome deal.

I did drill holes and put silicon sealer around the top and below the screw head, just to make sure it stays dry, also helped to keep the screws in place when putting the spoiler onto the trunk. Looks great. :happydance:

Amuse370z 05-21-2013 06:52 PM

Just like the OEM one.

Wonka2581 06-22-2013 10:20 PM

Sub'd might be an option, but still cant get the Duckbill off of my mind...

zilverbullet 06-25-2013 12:25 PM

Has anyone attached the mines add-on to this?

Catchin-Z's 11-12-2013 05:14 PM

I came across this (older) thread and glad I did. Was planning to purchase one and have been looking at eBay as an alternative and had found these guys: Nissan 370Z No Convertible Painted Factory Style Spoiler Wing Trim 2009 2014 | eBay with a price of $220...

Now seeing this supplier ( WingTech) and reading through the thread they appear to provide a quality product.

They don't show the pricing any longer so I sent off for a price quote and will follow up to anyone interested in this thread in case pricing has changed.

Still curious if anyone has (or is) planning on the duckbill (carbon signal CS Z34 Type - N) option. Love to know anyone with experience on it. Pictures preferred.

Catchin-Z's 12-07-2013 12:03 PM

Ended up ordering the spoiler from WingTech (via Ebay).

I was quite anticipating this transaction as you never know.

Although communications with them is extremely slow and laborious they do come through with flying colors.

They have several colors in stock like the Magnetic Black, Silver, Gun Metal and Pearl White.

As I had to get mine in Magma Red you need to contact them and let them know the color code (in this case NAM) and then await for their confirmation.

For easy ref here are the other color codes:

Chip Color Code(s) Color Description
  • A54 Vibrant Red
  • G41 Black Metallic
  • K23 Liquid Platinum Metallic
  • KAD Gun Metallic
  • NAG Black Cherry Pearl
  • NAM Magma Red Metallic
  • QAB White Pearl
  • RAA Deep Sapphire Metallic

Received the box yesterday and have to say it was carefully packed in a very sturdy box and then wrapped fully plus tape with extra packing on the "tips".

Comes with a double sided instruction page (which is pretty much a copy of a Generic install) plus 4 bolts and associated washers. 4 holes are pre-drilled and tapped.

The bottom of the wing has what looks like something similar to 3M speed tape already applied / ready for use.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...70ZWing004.jpg

Upon initial inspection the paint work looks very good, clear coating has been done very well. No waviness, no stress cracks. The wing material appears to be everything as "sturdy" / and similar weight as the Nissan OEM's - (which I did inspect and held in my hand) at the dealership.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...70ZWing001.jpg

The finish is smooth as glass and no flaws in the paint anywhere that I can find.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...70ZWing003.jpg

Just pressed her down with some speed tape for a color match check.

General fit looks right on the mark....

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...70ZWing005.jpg

Pretty happy with this one. Guess it was worth to take a shot with these guys.

Wife says to quit playing with it and wait until Christmas

I'll take some additional shots once it has been installed by my custom body shop to show overall fit and finish when she is down tight to the body.

As a side note: ordered on the 28th - received on the 6th - total time 9 days

I am in the same boat....quite interested to see if I can extend and add the N spoiler.

I can do some measurements of the width, thickness of where the lip would slip over it, etc,

All we then need is someone with a pure factory do the same measurements or have AJ from CarbonSignal confirm/measure the size of the insert area if he is up to it ?

Wonka2581 12-18-2013 12:30 PM

Bump it.... Looking for some answers lol

For those who didn't drill and just used additional tape, can you please advise which specific tape you used in addition to the one that comes with the spoiler?

I am receiving my spoiler on Monday and don't want to drill.

Thanks!

NickTurnon 01-04-2014 06:09 PM

I just used the double sided that comes with the wing, and then went to Home Depot and got a roll of 3M double sided w a pretty strong hold for up to 10lbs or something like that, and then I slapped that on to it near the edges, because the corners sometimes come up a little bit!

Good luck

Fantastic Z 01-24-2014 08:27 PM

Just placed my order for one of these
This will complete my aero package on my Z. Pretty excited seeing that it's only $140 shipped. I don't want to drill holes either so, extra 3M tape it is haha

Catchin-Z's 01-27-2014 11:20 AM

Here is my update on the install.

Fit and finish is flawless and in my opinion can't tell the difference from the OEM.

I had this installed by my fav custom shop. used the provided 3M double sided tape and the four (4) screws.

I see no lifting on the tips or any gaps anywhere.

Paint match is just perfect. Gloss coat is looking good.

Will do another update a year from now to see how she hold sup.
