Alcantara knee pads
Went to the dealer to get my ECM swapped (high pitch noise) and looked at a 2011 base Roadster in the showroom. I was impressed by the knee pads on the sides of the center console...they were Alcantara instead of the faux leather. Inquired about ordering some and the dealer said they'd be $60 each. Figured I'd let you guys know since it's a cool change.
damn thats cool, anyone can find the part number?
96912 and 96913. The numbers are the same on Courtesyparts and through Nissan. However, I don't know how you order leather vs alcantara. Courtesyparts just lists those numbers for all model years. The Nissan parts guy didn't know either, though I'd feel better ordering from Nissan and specifying the 2011 Roadster as 'my car'.

price isnt bad, id be interested to see how these look compared to the original ones

Yeah I noticed that when I looked at a friends ZR. Very nice. Better than the leather on the Coupes IMO... unless you have really sweaty, oily knees in the summer. :icon17:
What are these knee pads you speak of? Any pics?
huge pic but take a look: http://0.tqn.com/d/cars/1/0/q/x/1/ag_10370zr_int.jpg

Amazingly it's just a stock piece on any model. The one I saw in the showroom was a base, non-sport, non-touring roadster. So I think if you tell the dealer you want to order the knee pads for a 2011 roadster, you'll get the Alcantara. I popped the manual shift boot up and they have all the same mounting points (figured I'd just check).

its a good price, thanks for the find man
now if i could just get the rest of the trim pieces like that...

I wonder how much that would cost?

Found it. Hot damn thats expensive!
ok so when will we see this thread start?:
WTT: my crappy faux leather knee pads for your alcantara knee pads :ugh2: |
i think it is kind of odd that they would do just this part and not any others (door panels etc.)
Door panels already have alcantara. The knee pads now tie the door panels into the rest of the car nicely.
...oh
do want.
Is it just me or would that wear easier than the leather one...?
I just ordered a set of these for $120 from the dealership. I had to go to hell and back to find the right part apparently my parts guy was saying theres a different code for touring, 40th aniv, etc. I ended up having to find him a VIN off a roadster just to be sure. Also it looks like the 2010 roadsters have the alcantara too not just the 2011.
^Nice. Please post the correct part number so everyone can ensure they order the right ones as well. Post some pics too!
Oh sry forgot its 96993 ietoa and 96992 ietoa. I have no idea what the letters are for but thats what he gave me.
mynissanparts.com has them. Just search for 370Z Roadster -> Console -> Center console -> Side panel -> Convertible. I'm pretty sure those are the alcantara pads. Oh and $39 per pad plus $12 S&H. :)
Persimmon by any chance or black only???
great find, I will try to hit up the dealer soon!
Interesting...I'm all about classing up the interior
I don't think I would get red alcantara though, probably stick to black... |
I don't know if I would want to fork up 120....
oh wow just saw this... real nice upgrade for the money. i wonder what the matching door panels would cost? probably big $$$...
I might have missed some thing here, but do these fit the coupes also?
In for pics.
AFAIK, Nissan only made the alcantara knee pads in black. $92 shipped for both pads if you use the link I provided on page 2.
has anyone checked to see if you can buy matching door panels inserts as a standalone item or if it would require purchasing the entire interior door panel?

Looks like you have to buy the entire door trim panel. |
