Default Nissan Auto Dim rearview mirror

I've looked over the install instructions...looks pretty straight forward and simple. My question is does it dim fast or is it slow to respond. I have a friend that is extremely disappointed in her Altima...she would like to have it changed to a manual. Oh, one more thing...I noticed it does not have the manual handle to switch to night operation if needed. Is everyone satisfied with the dimming. I'm talking about the Nissan model ($260 model) with Homelite and compass. If you have one installed let me know what you think please.

I had one on my 350 and don't have it on my 370. I really miss it.
If you don't have tinted windows, it reacts relatively quickly, but with tint is reacts more slowly.

FYI, I installed the Auto-dime homelink rearview mirror "kit" for the 370z, but when it arrived it is the accessory for the 350z, the auto-dim mirror on the touring 370z is a newer model (50-GENK45A). The new model dims faster and more evenly. I have no problems with the older model but I recommend getting the new gentex instead of the "official accessory".

I think it isn't slow, but it seems a bit narrowly focus, when you pass a car it doesn't dim until they are directly behind you again, or pretty far back, at least compared to the Acura's I've driven with the same feature.
