I had a girl one time give me that number and I called it. :rofl2: The next time I seen her. I told her that was my boss's office phone number. The look on her face was priceless. :rofl2:

Since the Hebi Bebi is discontinued, and it seems like TWM and Password are both gone, what are the new suggestions for a weighted knob? I can't seem to find anything that is nice with a decent weight. The Momo Nero looks nice, but is light.

If you dont like the grfx knob Cooltoy posted, the Raceseng Ashiko is 735 gram vs. 520 grams that google tells me the hebi bebi weighs. The sphereology is 470 grams and the Slammer is 635 grams, didnt check the rest. Fwiw, I have the sphereology and the Cylix, both are extremely nice and feel good.

OptionZero 07-02-2020 10:40 AM

GRFXP is the best option
1.4lbs/635g
fits perfectly in hand
affordable

problem is stock i've found is absurdly limited

it may be easier to overpay for a TK

Got this in the mail today. 600g. Havent swapped it in yet though.

I got it in black with a shift boot retainer to help it sit better.

Ventruck 07-04-2020 03:20 AM

Forgot if I posted here about it, so maybe playing like a broken record....but I did the Hebi Bebi. Drank that Kool-Aid, and it's been feeling like the last knob I'd ever need.

Went with the PW JDM knob at first. Nice weight, just so happened to align perfectly for me without any shims, but still tall and I noticed I just grabbed closer to the base over time so I could feed shifts more reliably.

Then did the Nismo Ti. Really cool piece. Catered to to the whole "tactile" feel for the shift gates. The clunks were getting old, and sometimes casual shifts would slip because there's nothing to the shape or surface.

The TK knob just gave me a bit of everything. I didn't even bother mounting it face-forward. Just flush as possible.

dave11 07-04-2020 10:37 AM

I don't know if it is going to be the best, but I just ordered the new Vision knob in red from Raceseng. I already have the weighted Contour knob from them.

Yeah, it looks like they are out of stock on everything. I like the satin looking finished one. I'd love to have the TK. I'll have to keep a lookout for one.

I ordered it also just to see what it's like. I ordered it a day before they started their 4th of July sale. :shakes head:

The Vision is super light

I hate you both. I want one now. Let me know how it feels with the coolerworx, I am curious what a lighter one would feel like.

dave11 07-05-2020 09:01 AM

madwi, I am also interested in the difference in feel between a weighted short knob and a taller light weight knob.

I've tried a lighter shift knob (Raceseng Apex R) on the woolerworx and prefer it. The shape of the Apex R sucked though (it has a cutout in it that cut into my hand). As for the shape and comfort of the Vision, we'll see.

I got my Vision knob and put it on yesterday. It is outstanding. It is comfortable, it fits my hand nicely, has good leverage, the cutouts are interesting and gives a different feel under acceleration. The Contour knob was nice, but this is much better to me. The red gives a nice bit of color, too.

So I have the Z1 Motorsports M-Spec Shift Knob Kit and my wife and I are not fans of it at all.. mainly because the top of the knob is sharp when you grab it (both my wife and I are over the top type grabbers) and it becomes very uncomfortable to use.

https://cdn.z1motorsports.com/images...Knob-3433.webp

Anyone on here USED to have the Z1, and went to a knob that they thought was better? I'm half thinking of just getting an OEM knob but they are $$$ for a new one; plus I've never driven on an OEM one so not 100% sure I would enjoy it any more than the Z1.

Any advice is welcome on what I might want to replace the Z1 with!

Look on Raceseng website. They have a bunch of different styles and make quality shift knobs.

To add to the above advice, I like the OEM know, other than it is too tall. So if you are not able to find a Raceseng you like, the Hebi Bebi knob or it's copy (see my post 373) is the best knob (IMO) for both over the top shifters, as you it it short, fits welt into the palm and has the edges to grab with your fingers. These things are very subjective of course.

Oso 07-13-2020 11:33 PM

Has anybody tried the 350z shift knob? I cant seem to find any pictures of one installed. It seems a bit wider and thicker than ours. (insert joke here)

I actually like the imprinted gears on the knob. I would hate to buy another oem just to have it wear down in a few years again. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/00...g?v=1534367301

cooltoy 07-13-2020 11:39 PM

I have not seen one used.

Zoren 370 07-14-2020 06:27 AM

Im selling my OE manual shift knob for 370Z!

$40 shipped

The Best knob ever IMO!!!
