when i did my G's knob (TWM) i ran into the same stuation with the boot. i bought a MOMO shift boot which comes with a conal shaped rubber ring

when i did my G's knob (TWM) i ran into the same stuation with the boot.
i bought a MOMO shift boot which comes with a conal shaped rubber ring inside that shapes the boot at the top where it meets the knob. i think something like that will make your knob/boot look more finished.  here's wat i mean in my G:
