I use the 9500IX and it has worked well on several roadtrips even going to Phoenix last Christmas where they had lots of speed cameras and redlight cameras. I have used it daily on my 50 mile commute for the last 10 months and have always had enough warning.
I hear the redline and V1 are better for cross country driving while the 9500IX is suited for driving around town- probably due to the IX's filtering that reduces false alerts.
I still keep a lookout for stationary LEO since Laser is the biggest threat to your cruising pleasure. I have only come across it one time though.

V1. Situational awareness. The end.

AMEN. V1. Once you use the arrows and really know how many boggies (valid & false) and what direction they are coming from. Well, you will never go back. Lot's of notification is also a big plus. Had several escorts and liked them but after 15 years with V1.... JMHO...they are the best! :icon18::icon18::icon18:

Another +1 for V1................

I have one in each of my 3 cars. This unit will always let me know if my Friends are in front, in back or on the side. Knowing the direction has saved me many times........:driving:

I have the 9500 with GPS, seems to do a good job.

On another note, how are people installing them and plugging them in. Are you using the outlet under the passenger dash?

i hardwired my V1 to the fuse box but since i like mine next to the cluster im still using the coil wire.

Passport 8500 X50. It's a little sensitive to automatic doors and stuff, but deal with it because it has saved me countless times so far (over the past year of owning it). All the good radars are pricey, but this is why you should collect credit card points or something similar. Mine was free; used my AMEX points.
