Its not bad at all and I would not let that deter you, anything can be cleaned. I have a light colored interior in my G with a 4 year old
 and have not had any problems keeping it clean. But, I am also fairly anal

I have had two cars with light gray leather and it has been ok for me. I would not want light color alcantara. I assume it is harder to get oils and soiled marks out of it than leather. Could be wrong though.
