Default Keyless Entry Programming

OK guys, I will start by saying YES I admitted I lost one set of Keys already

Now I need to purchase another set, which dealers want around $288 with programing. But I found a pretty good deal on Ebay. Now the question is, I called the dealer and yes I can take the key I buy from ebay to the dealer and they will program it, the price for programming is $99.00 . So those anyone know where I can get a better deal than the rip off $99.00.

I mean lets be honests, thats just putting a key into a computer system and reload the code, $99.00 are you serious. If thats my only option fine I guess Ill do it, but I prefer to ask at the experts here in the forum.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Let me know what you figure out, I'm in the same boat. A new fob is going for around $110 on ebay but the dealers rip you off for a 5 minute job.

The dealership is probably trying to charge you more for programming, since that is all you are having them do. What I mean is, since you aren't buying key from them.

Thats what I though but I called two dealers and thats what they told me is the programming charge.

Dealer Ebay
Keyless - $113.83 $81.06
Key $39.38 $25.10
Program $99.00 $99.00
Total $252.21 $205.16

Im sure that taxes are applicable to the items for the items.

I will let you guys know, I hope that someone comes with an answer for the programming

You must go to the dealer to program the key as the Consult must tell the car to find new keys and then store the key's ID in the memory. If there was another way we would sell way more keys.

to bad it's not like a z32 where the tell you you have to have the dealer program it but there was a sequence of locking unlocking the doors having the hatch open turning the key on and off and then you just held the buttons on the remote and it was done for way less than the 100bucks they charged.

My Mazda3 was able to program additional remotes and keys by yourself as well, as long as you already had 2 (incentive to immediately buy a third) by a series of commands. Shame, I'd like to have a third backup just incase...
