That's a great idea, I would like to find a small tool kit or safety kit to put there, I think it would be kind of neat.

If Nissan says its for a set of funky looking pliers, I guess it must be. But to me it looks suspiciously like the shape of the seat belt extender. Anyone shoehorning themself into a z wish to help answer??

look at the first pic

at the top of the foam impression you see how its widened on each side of the plier tip area

thats so you can reach into the indention with your fingures to retrieve the tool

Wonder if it is some sort of lug nut key. I may have found where to put mine! or is that too obvious

As said before, the left one is for a screwdriver, and I know for a fact that the NISMO versions have them, but not the other versions...

I spoke with the parts guys at the dealership, and they believe that it's a not a place for a set of pliers, but for a seat belt extender... why would they need a place to put a seat belt extender though?

LMAO... I was going to say the same thing but wasn't sure if anyone would get it.

Other option was ice pick and mini flask.

Default Screwdriver for NISMO

I have a 2011 NISMO that came with the screwdriver.

In the 2011 owner's manual is says access to the threaded slot for the tow hook for non-NISMOs is through a panel on the front bumper. It says NISMO users need the screwdriver to remove the front license plate so the tow cable will not bend your license plate as you make turns. Hense - non-NISMOs don't need the screwdriver.

There is no mention to what the pliers were to be used for.
