Just a couple shots I took at the body shop. I'll add some commentary later on, going out to the mexican restaurant/bar now.

Never saw that upper vent before, which I assume is for the Gen III intakes, looks good.

SophiaZ 04-13-2010 06:13 PM

Nice! The bar under the vents will probably look good dark orange since you have a black Z with orange/black wheels.

thoughts:
body man said quality is superb, he really loved the attention to detail on the tooling

he isn't happy with the 3 piece design. It will cost me 4 hours labor to blend them together. I would have rather paid freight shipping and had it in one piece.

Hopefully when I bring the grill material in on Thursday, I will háček updated pics and car done sometime next week

Reaper42 04-13-2010 06:31 PM

fugly IMHO

Kyle@STILLEN 04-13-2010 06:34 PM

Mike, did you get the glue in your kit? If not I'll PM you the info on it.

Mike 04-13-2010 06:48 PM

Kyle, I'm not sure, since it went directly to them, and if it's easier than my shop wants to make it, that's cool, but my guys are perfectionists, so I will defer to the way they want to do it

Yea, it's actually REALLY easy. I just worked on a little DIY with our modeling shop guys and it is very easy. Sounds like we'll just leave it to your pros though. Look forward to seeing the end result, I'm also very glad to hear that they were happy with the finish!

HKYStormFront 04-13-2010 08:02 PM

in for results!

RCZ 04-13-2010 08:11 PM

me too, looking forward to this one.

NYBladeZ 04-13-2010 08:58 PM

in for results, this thing will definitely match will with the G3's the vent is ingenious

jmlenz 04-13-2010 09:00 PM

yeah kinda wish it was one piece too but oh well. In for the results of the blending...pls be sure to tell us their method and what materials were used!

Mike 04-13-2010 09:30 PM

I thnk my bodyshop will not be using the method that Stillen intended. Stillen's method may be cheaper and easier, but I have a long history with my body man, and he is comfortable with the stuff he knows and works with every day, and doesn't want to play with something new, so I will pay a little extra for him to be happy with it. Please don't take my experience as gospel, I know that Stillen put a lot of work and time into the design and execution, and how they intend it to go together. The overall cost won't be more than 200 and I am good with that.
