Default New Fog Light Circuit

Dear members,

I had an idea I would like to share with you. I made a little circuit that allows two brightness levels for the Fog light. The Fig light would be at 50% brightness when you turn your lights on, and it will go to 100% brightness when you press the break. The circuit only requires that you tap into the power line of your rear lights (one of them) and required no modification to the Fog light itself. I plan to install this in my own car and I wanted to know if anyone would be interested for me to draw up the circuit and put it up here.

That would be very cool. I finally saw one out there that had it on and it was really bright... having 2 settings would be much better IMO.

I'm not too familiar with incadescent lamps, do you use PWM to dim the fog light or are you using a resistor to decrease the current?

Hugoneus, not to burst your bubble, but you dont need a special circuit for this.. You just need to replace the socket/bulb with a 2 stage socket. Then tap that socket into both the rear tail lights and rear brake light power wires. member named MR_Z did it a long time ago, he posted info about it in the big foglight thread in the DIY section.

Something like this:

T20 Socket for T20 Wedge 7443 Socket - Other LED Lights - LEDLight

they sell them at auto parts stores and at autolumination.com too

DIY is always welcome here.

but i like my foglamp to only light up when needed. thing is super bright and can work against you... people behind you are blinded and crashes into you.
