Momo's attach with 3 set screws around the base of the knob. They are not threaded to the shaft (10 x 1.25 thread). Unscrew the piece at the bottom of the knob that covers the screws, get out your hex wrench that came with it, and tighten things up...You'll have to do this every now and then.

I would suggest that you go with your own suggestion. Replace it.

Used a Momo before with my old G35....in short it sucked. The 3 bolts on the sides did not hold well and a threaded shifter would work a lot better in my opinion.

And yes...the Nismo knobs are all screw on type that I know of.

my momo that i used on one of my previous cars came with a little plastic/rubber cover that goes on the lever. then tighten the set screws over it. never had a problem of loosening in the 4-5yrs i had it on the car.

I wanna replace my shift knob but it's so damn hard to get it out...is there a way to take out the old knob? or do you just have to man handle it with a tower and a wrench?
