you have to use a foam pad and some elbow grease to get swirls out with scratch-x. it's no miracle product as it's just a fine polish.
if you dont feel comfortable polishing it, try Prima Amigo. it's a glaze and filler.
works very well and very easy to apply/remove by hand. i use it all the time on my hobby cars between polishing. then wax afterwards.
