I would go for a better alternator. I don't like the "just add second battery" mentality. Your current alternator has to charge both batteries. I'd say go a stronger alternator.

I would go for a better alternator. I don't like the "just add second battery" mentality. Your current alternator has to charge both batteries. I'd say go a stronger alternator. Now, this changes if you want to run the system allot with the car off, in that case, another battery is the go to.
