Recommendation when you have a confirmed list contact the seller with names of people and then have everyone pay them via PayPal with screen name and actual name once 5 are confirmed niksmo can confirm they will be made as the main contact.

It shouldn't be deposits it should just be paid straight to the vendor the whole amount and await shipment. Each person pay through PayPal and put their screen name in the note section.

Once 5 people paid vendor he can confirm and start making them. If by chance vendor doesnt move forward then PayPal dispute money back as it would be covered under buyer protection
