I read through the thread and I was just wondering if anyone has tossed one in recently and how the newer version is with rattling issues etc. Also, is Soho or someone else still selling them here?

Thanks, yeah, I seen that link but I'm more interested in user feedback for anyone who's had one installed for a while. If there's any trouble shooting needed or if the updated mounting plate solved the initial install/vibration issues..

I've been using one for a while. I love it. Mine doesn't have a rattle but at high rpm it has a buzzing noise. It sounds like it's coming from the inner cable on the reverse lock out. I just installed it in another car, when I get it back on the road I'll see if it's still there.

Cool, thanks man! I don't mind a little noise since I already have long tube headers etc.. Just more concerned about any long term issues from usage/vibrations and any mounting problems which I'm assuming have been resolved with the updated version..

Coolerworks originally made the shifter for 350z's. I'm assuming due to demand for a 370z shifter they added the 350z mounting plate to the 370z shifter to get in on the market which meant drilling new holes in the trans tunnel. It didn't affect the fuctionality of the shifter at all. My flywheel makes a lot more noise than the shifter does and like I mentioned, it only does it at high rpm. Regular daily driving there is no noise at all. If you want a shifter with short, clean, positive shifts then you'll love this shifter.

Nice, nice, thanks man! Aside from fitment, my main concern was whether or not it was well suited to daily driving and not just track days etc..

sorry to revive from the dead....just read about updating the tranny mount. Im running completely stock motor, so the trans wont be under any extra pressure. do you guys think ill be good without running a new one. I plan on changing it later if and when the csc fails

You need to lower the rear of the tranny to remove the old shifter cradle, might as well put in a new poly mount at the same time. Too easy.

:iagree:
It is only two bolts holding the mount on.

just ordered the part overnight to the shop im getting it installed on! no instructions :( im gonna send them the install thread to see if they could work it off that

thank you guys for the help

If they follow the instructions I posted they won't have any issues with installation, and I didn't even lower the transmission to install mine (although would've saved 20 minutes of cursing and banged up fingers)
